Name the song the line is from Part II

OK, I normally ain't any good at album tracks (I'm just a top-40 brat), but I been thinkin' and thinkin' and thinkin.' And I think I may know this one.

It's from Abbey Road, right? You Never Give Me Your Money, or something like that.

I couldn't afford to buy albums back then, but I had a friend who owned it. We spent hours puzzling over the fact that, in the photo on the album sleeve, Paul was the only one who was barefoot. Why was that?? We were covinced it was a goddamn conspiracy, and Paul was dead.

Anyway, back in the 60s, there were guitar players. And then there were guitar players:

You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man
Yes- exactly!

Hey Joe- the one and only Jimi Hendrix

please
Don't ever set me free
I always want to be by your side

I never knew you cared, noahcat.

Voice from offstage: She's just doing lyrics, Jim.

What??...oh...darn.

That would be You Really Got Me, by those Kinks.

Ok, here's one:

We go to a party
And everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady
That's walking around with me

I heard that one a lot around here. It’s “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton.

This one went to #2 in 1976

Soft and low the music moans
I can't stop thinking about you

Like most of the stuff they did, that's a very pretty song, Cyn.

It's England Dan and John Ford Coley singing Nights Are Forever Without You.

Early 80s:

I travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something

Good one Jim - Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams

I'll be out for a few hours so I'll leave it open

OK, Tony. It's 1978, all over again:

Feelin' down 'n' dirty, feelin' kinda mean
I've been from one to another extreme

I'm going to be away for a little while, so I'm adding a few lines, and a few hints.

Feelin' down 'n' dirty, feelin' kinda mean
I've been from one to another extreme
It's time I had a good time, ain't got time to wait
I wanna stick around 'til I can't see straight

The song was the title track of a 1978 album. As a single, it hit #2 on the charts (BB/H100).

The group originally consisted of 3 Brits, and 3 Yanks. That led one member to suggest a name for the band, and it stuck.

Thanks Jim - Good clue for a great band - Foreigner - Double Vision

This band was named after an antique car -

************ NEW *****************

And even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight,
You're a candle in the window on a cold dark winter's night,

Tonyrob

I pretty much love everything they ever did, Tony.

It's REO Speedwagon, doing I Can't Fight This Feeling.

Mid 80s here (#5 US, #17 UK). Think Jersey:

And I hope when I get old
I don't sit around thinkin' about it
But I probably will
