Name the song the line is from Part II

Isn’t that “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen?

I think so, so let’s do this:

Goodbye to all my friends at home
Goodbye to people I’ve trusted

Cripes, I am such a slow typist, it's just embarrassing.

Taking down my extra hints, because Cyndee already identified the song.

That's a really good song, Cyndee.

It's Big Old Jet Airliner (or is it just Jet Airliner?), by the Steve Miller Band.

OK, I was born and raised in this city, and every so often I have to go back there. Lyrically speaking, that is. I apologize:

I've tried so hard, hard to be patient
Hoping you'd stop this infatuation

Sorry, guys.

Didn't mean to bore everyone. It was Stop! In The name of Love, by the Supremes.

I'll leave it open.

I love that song Jim but didn't recognize the lyric.

Here is an Eighties Hit

Sorry, everyone. I had a bad day yesterday, and it showed in my behavior on the boards.

I'm sentencing myself to some well deserved time in the penalty box. I'll be back in the future if and when I feel I've earned the right to participate again.

(That's a damn good 80s song, Tony.)

I didn't see anything to put you in the penalty box.
Time to come out now - we miss ya already Jim!

Sorry, Tony I have some blind spots when looking at the 80s. It seems the tunes got through, but not the words on some stuff.
I’d like Jim to come out of his penalty box now, if he would. He is the best one for those 80s songs. I’m not sure why he went there anyway.
Maybe a joke didn’t fly. No big deal. Let’s take a poll. Who here has posted something they thought was funny only to realize later that it wasn’t, or that somebody else thought it wasn’t?

I’ll be the first to type: Aye
