Anyone else here own some TSLA?

One company he founded ( with help) was SpaceX, which hasn't been mentioned in the thread as yet ( that I know of). They've made some significant strides in reviving the US space travel industry FWIW after cessation of the shuttle program; he was there to drive that program from early on, and he's still there. One thing about Musk is that he wears more than one coat ( multiple industry involvement), despite the fact that his monetary inputs across varied entities are a part of his overall influences, there's obviously more to him than his wallet. That's quite obvious. I suspect if Twitter and / or Tesla financially combust, I'd expect him to swim out and display his innovative skills elsewhere..based on his performance/s to date. He ain't God, but he's accomplished a lot.

I expect for Musk to be fine with Twitter after all of the liberal crybabies tears dry and when all of the honest ,truth telling people rejoin. It will take time but Twitter will be better off without all of the left wing liars who were running the place while Dorsey has his head in the sand. Tesla will also be fine.

Twitter's reputation was destroyed forever when they allowed themselves to be the principal mouthpiece for the Orange Pusbag before (finally!) booting him off. Disinformation posted there by the Orange Thing and others fomented the insurrection, killed thousands of people due to terrible covid advice, etc. etc. etc. Musk has decided to remove any safeguards Twitter presently has against hate speech, disinformation, conspiracy theorists, and other loony birds.

So yeah, it'll be a conservitard paradise. The internet's version of late night talk radio. Git out yore tinfoil hats!

What investors/shareholders should find alarming is with what incredible lack of grace and/or acceptance he has dealt with those recent failures. He styles himself as Henry Ford, JP Morgan, and Thomas Edison all rolled into one. He's seemed quite surprised recently to find out that his shit DOES stink.

SpaceX has little practical use, except for stuff like launching satellites or resupplying the space station. "Space tourism" isn't going to be a thing for a long, long time--it's the elitism of the Tesla carried to a logical extreme. The trouble is that it still costs about $1 million to launch 1 kilogram of cargo into low earth orbit. The only way to get around that is massive economies of scale, which won't happen until we develop MUCH more efficient propulsion systems AND there's a reliable demand to put things into orbit.

I agree with you that he's an innovator. But Jesus, he doesn't seem to know how to run a business, and that certainly includes dealing with setbacks and adversity.

Yeah, well. He's already survived at least one personal bankruptcy ( when he was attempting to bail out Tesla and SpaceX during the recession of 2008). There are multiple instances of adversity and failures in his history, but he's demonstrated an ability to get up/ re-emerge after having been knocked down. Is he an educated Rocky? Despite the fact that he sorta resembles Bela Lugosi in some media pics?

*hears faint 'Gonna Fly Now' Rocky theme in the distance*

We'll see.

As a sidenote, I personally don't see much day-to-day practical value in the space program as a whole, either. But there are individuals and groups with deep pockets who do ( eg NASA, for example). The satellite / military security/ communication  aspects are vitally real though..those impact most if not all of us even though we don't think about them on a daily basis; we just hit buttons and tap screens and ..voila..nirvana materializes immediately. I admit I personally would be pissed off if I was unable to watch the Cowboys play bad football on the satellite TV.

I'd prefer they allocate funds to the southern US border myself, but that's for another nasty-assed thread involving insults and virtue signaling. Exciting isn't it?

Elon bought Twitter to own the libs. The libs canceled their orders and quit buying his cars. Talk about a self-own of epic proportions.  Antagonizing your customer base because you don't have enough self-control to stop embracing Nazis and spreading crackpot conspiracy theories on social media broadcasts to the world just how incompetent you are.

The good news is if you want a Tesla you can get one for $7,500 off. Elon is having a tough time moving inventory so he is holding a fire sale.

You think he pooped/peed in his own oatmeal, then?

Yep, for the most part conservatives are hostile to electric cars. The people that buy them are more liberal and some would say the most liberal as they are early adopters/green enthusiasts.

Well, I'd like to disagree with you..but I can't/won't. Those are all true.

Very few companies make products that appeal exclusively to one side of the political spectrum. Tesla are such a product. Aside from specific dislikes, EVs represent change, and conservatives, by definition, hate change.

So you can enhance your customer base for a polarizing product by virtue signaling--but you need to get on the same side as your customers! Elon has done just the opposite!

It's as if he owned a company that made assault rifles, printed Bibles, and built drones that killed only Mexicans--and then he advertised only on MSNBC.
