Biden should demand that pharma give the chemicals away for free.

Remember negotiations are a 2 way street.

What happens when the drug company says we will not sell you the drug at the price you want & the patients are left without the drug.

No negotiation, between ANY two parties buying and selling ANYTHING, is as simplistic as that.

Before the allowance of negotiations, the government had to pay the asking price. Period. Now, the government can make a counteroffer. And if an offer is turned down by the drug companies, the government now has the power to make a higher offer. "The patients are left without the drug" doesn't happen simply because the first round of negotiations doesn't result in an agreement, you idiot.

That's how thing are done in the grown-up world, stupid Tommie-poo.

When profits decrease, so will R&D.  I realize this concept is beyond your comprehension, but it's  know to those who paid even minimal attention during ECON 101.

Boiler, I'm guessing you haven't had 15 different careers like Kevin though.

1. The purpose of American society is NOT to maximize profits for drug companies.

2. In order to make a profit, a company has to actually sell its product. When the buyer has negotiating power, sales increase. Ultimately, more profits are made than if the company was rigid in its pricing.

3. R&D will increase when the drug companies know there will be a guaranteed buyer for their products--in this case, the government.

It's called the free market, Boiler. I'm surprised you've never heard of it.

Kevin's explaination of the business world is one of the reasons why Kevin's business failed.  And he tells us that he graduated with an accounting degree.  I've never heard of even one person with such a degree who claims that "revenues" equal how much a company "makes".

Never trust a Lyin' Liberal.

And you've never heard me say that, either.

Really, Boiler, you should quit this dishonorable practice of putting words in other people's mouths. You're simply lying.
