Energy independence

And exactly why did we "need" to have the oil-producing nations cut back, O Fossil Fuel Expert? To prop up prices? To make sure that the fossil fuel companies continued to bleed America dry? What a noble goal!

As anyone with a brain knows, the Republican party is owned by the fossil fuel industry, which told its lackeys in Congress and the Senate to make sure their profits were maximized--and Trump eagerly acceded to their demands. Their current willingness to ass-fuck everyone because of a temporary and mostly artificial shortage is exactly why we should have let market forces operate instead of restricting supply.

There are already thousands of productive wells that have been capped because the fossil fuel companies want to keep prices high. Then there's Canadian crude, which can get here with or without the Keystone pipeline. The bottom line is that we don't need to import fossil fuels from Russia at all--even now, we get 8% of our total consumption from them. That could easily be offset by ramping up production.

It's corporate America, and Republicanism, both of which prioritize profits over the economic well-being of the American people. To pretend otherwise is just blowing smoke.

Right Kevin.  Watch as natural gas and gasoline prices continue to increase.  Trump wanted oil prices to increase to a point where domestic exploration could be expanded, allowing energy indepenence.

You guys tell us that Trump was pro-Russia, yet he warned Germany not to get into bed with Russia on gas and oil.  Which is it.............love or hate?

Again - what makes you think the drillers would drill on new land when they aren't even drilling their exisitng wells at full capacity?

I suspect, because of our current energy climate, that Biden is instructing regulators to allow drilling to move foreward.  As under Obama/Biden, the Libs are lying about what is really happening and why little drilling has been moved foreward.  Regulators are finding every roadblock they can find to stop new projects from proceeding.

Get the fuck out of the way, and the problem will be solved.

You're twisting yourself into logical knots. When Trump colludes with the oil companies to jack up prices, that's a good and noble thing. When prices go up because of a war, that's somehow Biden's fault, and a bad thing.

You keep prattling about "energy independence." It's a meaningless term, the way you use it. But I know it's a common Trump-licker meme.

The government can't compel the fossil fuel companies to drill. They're private, independent entities. You know, that noble capitalism that all you Cons love so much.

What you "suspect" has been happening all along. The Biden administration has allowed the issuance of more drilling permits than the Trump administration did. Kind of blows a hole in your argument, doesn't it?

You assume that the fossil fuel companies are operating at anything close to capacity. They're not, because Trump told and continues to tell them not to.

Kevin is correct that we can't compel oil companies to drill.  They will drill when prices are high enough and when Liberals get the fuck out of the way.  The public is so pissed about current energy costs, and we know what Liberals so...............stick their wet finger in the air to judge to polictical winds.  That's what people without any true convictions do.

Biden will instruct the oil regulators to stop obstructing new drilling.

Hey asshole Lewis, in case you forgot, when President Trump left office, gasoline was $2 a gallon. In the 14 months that brain dead Biden has been in office, gasoline is now $5-7 per gallon. President Trump warned America about this and, in case the lying Lewis has forgotten, President Trump is not and has not been in office for the last 14 months. ALL of the problems with energy costs have happened during the 14 months Biden has been fucking America. The facts do not lie - Lewis does.

But just to respond to his idiotic conservitard meme: Sweden! Sweden! Sweden! One of most prosperous and happy countries in the world, and OH so socialist!!!

Once again Toxic kevin is wrong.  The Nordic countries have social welfare, but their economies are capitalistic.  The link shows the the Nordic countries are in the same range as the USA.

OK - just so we are clear.     You are making the claim (which by your own admission is a guess)   that oil supplies are low because oil companies need more land to drill on despite the fact they are not drilling to full capcity on the lands they already have full access to.    Holy cow.

Jen Psaki explains to dufous FOX News reporter how pipeline isnt supply

THANK YOU !

And then Psaki shifted into schoolteacher mode. “If we are trying to bring about more supply, that does not address the problem,” she explained. “We are already getting that oil, Peter. The pipeline is the delivery mechanism, it is not an oilfield. So it does not provide more supply into the system.”

No, I'm arguing that regulators won't let drilling happen.  They've been instructed to find problems, and more problems, and to keep finding problems, no matter how inconsequetial.  They been instructed to obstruct.

Given the current energy climate, I'm confident that will be told to stand down and to once again be reasonable.
