Have you gotten your payment?

Bloviate much, toad?

Kevin Lewis opines: "I do not, however, object to wealthier, intelligent blue states helping poorer, stupid red states. After all, we're all Americans. Many of us have relatives who repeatedly screw up their own lives. We help them anyway. I want us to keep on helping out Tucky Buckford and Clem Cornpone for similar reasons."

KevinLewis's post prompted poor old DonDiego to look into the comparative State and Local tax advantages to which he has referred.

Ref: State & Local Taxes

And, not totally surprisingly, the State in which poor old teechur and DonDiego ranks #49 in State and Local Tax Collections as of 2017.  #50 is Alabama, and poor old DonDiego opines living in Tennessee is preferable in spite of the tax issue.

[A note: when poor old DonDiego arrived in Tennessee it actually had a small tax on stock market holdings and interest; that tax has since been abolished.  But it was still partially in effect in 2017 when the referenced chart was published; so things have actually gotten better.]

teechur and poor old DonDiego are currently in the process of relocating to the Nashville suburbs; things'll be even more better !

Whoopee ! ! !

Oh, . . . and poor old DonDiego thanks Kevin Lewis for not objecting to wealthier, intelligent blue states helping poorer, stupid red states.  He's sure Tucky Buckford and Clem Cornpone would agree.

DonDiego should note that blue states also pay more federal taxes, and that red states have more people on federal public assistance programs. So the disparity is considerable.

The hypocrisy and stupidity of conservatives, who benefit more from taxation than liberals do even though they pay less, is breathtaking.

Nonetheless, railing against taxation and chanting the tired shibboleth, "Government is bad" have proved to be effective core strategies for the Republican Party.

Don, I've got bad news for you. Really bad. The reason Tennessee's average tax rate is so low is that the top 1% in your state (over $714,400 AGI) only pay 2.8% of their income in state and local taxes. And the top 5% (over $261,300 AGI) pay only about 4%.

I assume that Don is in neither of the two top brackets. Tough luck, that.

But here's the killer stat: Sixty percent of Tennessee citizens pay a higher tax rate than those with comparable incomes in California. Yup, high tax California! And that includes the higher property taxes in California because the real estate is so esteemed and expensive.

And in California, you'd have the advantages of beaches, better weather, fewer morons wearing cowboy hats, and you'd be around folks who are better educated, smarter, and MUCH better looking. And you'd have the satisfaction of knowing that unlike the taker welfare state of Tennessee, you'd be living in a state that's paying its own way in America.

I suggest that Don relocate.

That POS sent me a letter with his coke scribble on it like it came out of his pocket.

What normal president would do such a cheap stunt like this?

It slowed down the distribution of the checks by several days.

But you know what? It worked! At least SOME of the recipients are going to see the Orange Orangutan's signature and fall to their knees in tearful thanks that our glorious leader has reached into his bag of largesse and out of the generosity of his heart, bestowed this money on them.

Really. They will come in their pants when they see that signature.
