Kevin, here's the proof.  I just did some legwork, and these are the numbers.

Attendance per game in Div 1 college basketball

    Men:         4800

    Women:    1500

I couldn't find data across the entire NCAA on ticket pricing, so I used Purdue as my model.

     Average men's ticket price:          $45

     Average women's ticket price:     $8

The ticket revenue for women's basketball is only about 6% of what the men generate.  I suspect that the TV revenue spread is even more dramatic.  Very few pay attention to basketball played below the rim.

Your "above the rim" metaphor is stupid, because basketball is played "below the rim" 99% of the time in men's basketball; the 1% is when somebody dunks.

It is actually part of the hoop language referring to a player's ability to jump. If Toxic kevin knew anything about basketball he would know this. As an aside, other parts of playing "above the rim" include blocking shots, rebounding, a drive to the basket as the player releases his shot above the rim & even receiving or stealing a pass.

Women don't have the physical talent to jump, run or power their way to the basket as men can.  Women also play with a smaller ball.

Stupid Davey Dog, just about every single professional sport derives the vast majority of its revenue from TV broadcasts, not live attendance.

And while you hate women and therefore aren't entertained by female athletes, I like women and am entertained by athletic performances by men or women.
