''I am a Viet Nam veteran''- David Miller

Thank you Candy for the 35 years you gave to fellow veterans. I feel that they were lucky that you were there for them.

My mom and dad met at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital, he a hospital corpsman, she an RN.   Somewhere around 1936 or '37.  I wear her navy nurse pin every Veterans Day.  I don't know what Dad's rank was (or her's either, for that matter).  I remember he said "Your mother ran that floor like a tight ship!"   The hospital was new then, but gone now.

Holy shit. You and Davee-boi are (supposedly) in your 70's?

Ooooookayyyyyy.....

My father graduated high school in 1943.  He enlisted in the Navy immediately, as the good young back then did.  He passed his physical and completed boot camp.  Prior to being sent to Europe, he failed a physical.  The doctor was convinced that my dad had cancer.  My father lived until he was 76 years of age.  That doesn't change the fact that he voluntarily enlisted.

My father put his life on the line.

Also, my mom's brother enlisted and was on Ford Island when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.  He survived at a later date when his PBY was shot down.  Two of the six on the plane died.  My mom's sister's husband enlisted after the age that he was eligible to be called.  He did training in southern California under Patton, and did his tour in Africa.  My dad's sister did not enlist.

I still wonder what created such hatred.

Hanoi Jane (Fonda) fed the flames of anti-war sentiment, for one.   Protesters running amok.  The young enjoying the limelight from media.   We didn't see WWII or Korea-age vets raising hell and spitting on returning soldiers, right?

I don't support a criminal *president.

BTW, are you and Davee-boi the same person?

Happens a lot on an anomyous message board like this.

Tell-tale sign is all this kiss ass between you two.

Oh, and Boil is suspect in that too.

Care to discuss?
