Incompetent Republicans can't even name a Speaker of the House.

How many bills did Gym Jordan introduce since he was elected in 2007?

I don't know. He spent a lot of time on committee work and on TV, I think. I could look it up if the prize is worth it. What's your point?

Seventeen, according to the congressional record ( I looked it up). Altogether, with bill co-sponsorships and amendment proposals, there were 50 pieces of legislation. You think he's lazy? Again, what's your point? And where's my prize?

The Republicans made it very clear they have no legislative agenda.   They've said as much.   They ran their campaigns on as much.     So the fight isnt about different opinions on policy or legislation.   They dont have any legislation.

This fight is just about who gets to lead the Hunter Biden laptop circus.  And its also about getting payback to any Republican on record of denouncing Trump after the insurrection.    Begs the question why they even ran for office beyond the cushy paycheck, lax work schedule and fancy fundraising dinners.   Oh wait - there's the answer.

The Colorado Gun Bitch was apparently very pleasantly surprised at all the cushy perks, the fawning deference, the being waited on hand and foot, and the lack of the need to do any actual work that comes with being a member of Congress. She spends her days sitting behind a desk and smiling as a succession of beggars crawls into her office and plays kissy kissy.

Quite a step upward for a high school dropout who was fired from McDonald's.

Yes, but not enough votes (218), as we'd fully expect. I admit..the R's appear stupid as a group on this Speaker issue. The ultra-conservative wing members ( Jordan and Biggs, etc.) really detest McCarthy ( an establishment type who backed/ pulled enough R votes for the recent $1.7T omnibus bill passage..which Jordan's lot didn't approve of). Toward the end of the debate prior to the second vote, Jordan publicly spoke for the group to back McCarthy..it didn't work but at least he tried to forge some unity. Maybe they should just have a few whiskies and have an arm wrestling event. Or listen to the wealthy R donors and make a damned decision.

Honestly, I kinda like Jordan..we'll see what happens..if and when.

They're in the throes of deciding how to treat apostates. Last couple of years, they've been as tolerant of non-orthodoxy as, say, Chairman Mao, but cracks are appearing in the facade of solidarity.

The reality is that the vast majority of them are evil, selfish, amoral fucks, and alliances among such types are notoriously brittle. The RepubliQ may yet splinter into sane and non-sane factions, or a host of other dividing lines.

That was a real shit-show right there!

You mean my 'Red Ripple' ? Nothin red wave about it, really.

Nothing about this is new to the GOP. Other than his big tax bill, can anyone name a significant piece of legislation passed by Trump during his administration? Almost everything was by executive order, which made it so easy for Biden to change

Another day and Republicans have yet to appoint a speaker. It is my understanding a faction of Republicans are seeking Democrats out to vote for a Republican speaker in exchange for a power sharing agreement.
