Inflation dipped, but still running at high for 40 years.

PJ may not recall that the agreement Reagan cut with the Dems..............Reagan got his tax cuts, and in return, the Democrats got their government spending increase.  Do I need to post the chart AGAIN, how inflation decreased under Reagan?  PJ, this is not pointed at you, but the Kevins of the world would NEVER check on such things with their own research.

Democrats get credit for the doubling of the defense budget Republicans have spent the last 40 years bragging about ending the Cold War?    Well thats alot of history rewriting to do.

Of course inflation went down under Reagan.   Like I said - Volker raised interest rates to 15% and 20% in Carter's final year which brought all lending to a screeching halt.     That killed inflation....not anything Reagan did.    All of Reagan's legislation increased money supply which you so lovingly like to point out is a component of inlfation.

Hello, is this thing on? Can you hear me Boilerman?

As you may recall, YOU claimed that the dollar's strength or weakness was a direct reflection on the President, and then I pointed out that the Dollar has gained 14% versus the Euro since I was in Spain last June.

Eagerly waiting your response, Boilerman.

Only a complete moron would attribute the strength or weakness of the dollar to whomever happens to be in the Oval Office.

Of course, Boiler's contention was meant to be his regularly scheduled Trump-licking Biden-bashing, until you pointed out the, um, flaws in his reasoning. Of course, we'll see him post an abject apology and an admission that his reasoning was faulty, within 24 hours.

Or maybe not--maybe it'll be another "Kevin thinks..." idiocy, such as "Kevin thinks that giraffes are purple."

Well, according to Boiler history, the government didn't "print money" during the Reagan administration--only the "Libs" (LOL) do that.

You know, Reagan's godhood status among the RepubliQ is, shall we say, undeserved. He's supposedly the guy who swatted down them Rooskies but the actuality is, he veered us very, very close to a nuclear war. His "Star Wars" nonsense and his constant prattling and joking about starting a nuclear war scared the Russians to death--they thought they were dealing with a senile nut (which they were). Several books I've read report that the Russians were seriously considering a first strike during 1983-1985, as they sensed Ronnie inching closer and closer to the big red button.

That's a loaded question, as you included "his handlers." That allows you to say, if we answer by citing some "good stuff," "Awwww, OK, but that's just something his handlers did."

But I'll bite.

March 2021 1.9 trillion covid relief package.

1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.

$20 billion vaccination program. 1% of Americans vaccinated when he assumed office; over 75% now.

Six million jobs created as of Feb 2022.

Five million previously uninsured Americans given access to the Affordable Care Act benefits.

Low unemployment--in fact, what is actually considered "full employment"--below 4%.

Record real wage growth.

Actual attention to climate change rather than RepubliQ-fueled climate change denial.

We're out of goddamn Afghanistan. Bitch about how, but the fact remains that it's over.

Helping Ukraine fight off Putin while skillfully walking the tightrope--no escalation to a wider conflict, and America's allies and not-so-allies firmly on board (which is kind of a miracle all by itself).

Of course, I know that any one of these items can be argued against:

1. "It's not a good thing."

2. "It's just the liberal tax and spend belch grunt snort."

3. "It was a disaster."

4. "The Democrats are ruining America."

5. "Mars needs women."

6. "Wages and jobs don't matter. The only thing that counts is that horrible Biden inflation."

7. "That Obamacare nonsense allows the inferior races to live longer. I hate it!"

8. "MAGA MAGA MAGA stop all abortions! Trump in 2024, 2028, 2032, and 2036!!!!

9. "I hate hate hate Biden. I'm stupid Tommie-poo, and I approve this message."

10. "Ronnie Raygun really knew how to stand up to them Rooskies."

Wonder if the first two had anything to do with fueling inflation?  Neither was needed.

A silly-ass uninformed pronouncement like "neither was needed" includes the claim that you have a crystal ball or a time machine and thus know exactly how things would have played out otherwise. To which I call...bullshit.

Those who benefited from the covid relief bill--especially those who because of it, didn't lose their jobs or businesses--might beg to differ. And the infrastructure bill was actually agreed upon as necessary on a bipartisan basis--even by the RepubliQ, who would vote against fluffy white bunnies if Biden said he liked them.

As far as all the twaddle about the stimulus and infrastructure packages "fueling inflation"--are you aware that the net inflation from the beginning of 2020 (pandemic Ground Zero) to the end of 2021 was the same, percentage-wise, within 0.1%, as it was in the prior two years? In other words, that horrible horrible horrible gummint spending helped to correct the deflation of 2020 that was caused by the shrinkage of the GDP and the money supply. To say that the government spending "fueled" inflation is like saying that feeding that guy dying of starvation made him gain weight too fast.

March 2021 1.9 trillion covid relief package.

Key factor in 40 year high inflation

1.2 trillion infrastructure bill.

Also a key factor in 40 year high inflation

$20 billion vaccination program. 1% of Americans vaccinated when he assumed office; over 75% now.

Fake stat as the vaccine had just come out.  The biden gang just rolled out the Trump program & called it their own

Six million jobs created as of Feb 2022.

As stated previously less people are working now than before the pandemic.

Five million previously uninsured Americans given access to the Affordable Care Act benefits.

More inflationary deficit spending

Low unemployment--in fact, what is actually considered "full employment"--below 4%.

Better metric is job pariticipation rate which is declining.

Record real wage growth.

This one is an outright lie as real wages are declining.  5.5% wage growth vs 8+% inflation

Actual attention to climate change rather than RepubliQ-fueled climate change denial.

At the cost of record high fuel costs

We're out of goddamn Afghanistan.

Everyone including our allies said this was a disaster..  Promises to not leave any Americans & allies behind were not kept.  Billions of dollars of equipment left behind.  Afghan women not allowed any freedom & are totured.

Bitch about how, but the fact remains that it's over. Helping Ukraine fight off Putin while skillfully walking the tightrope--no escalation to a wider conflict, and America's allies and not-so-allies firmly on board (which is kind of a miracle all by itself)

Should have started to arm the Ukes months before the invasion.  Allies didn't respond until they saw the Ukes were able to defend themselves, along with a fear that they might be next.  Still won't send any planes & slow in sending other equipment.  He went over to Europe & every time he opened his mouth it was a disaster.  The handlers recently chose to send his wife over there while he stayed home in Delaware taking his weekend nap.

I'd say that about covers it.......

For those who have inaccurately claimed that I never complain about how much money Republican administrations spend, you've not been paying attention.  Both administrations have been spending like drunkin' sailors for many decades.

Of course you clowns would say, anything good Biden did didn't really count, or is FAKE NOOZE, or something. Predictable.
