A message from Pfizer

If the FDA was going to flip a coin, and one outcome needed a trillion in expenditures, and other other outcome needed a trillion in expenditures, Kevin, Mister, Mark and other Liberals would have complained no matter the outcome of the coinflip.

You guys are Monday morning quarerbacks, and you've never played football.

Learn how to spell "liberals," Boiler.

Only an idiot--like Trump, or apparently, you--would have been surprised by the fact that when a vaccine was developed, it would have to be shipped all over the country and doing that would cost money.

To use your analogy, Boiler, neither you nor Trump can even spell "football."

Kevin, the Moderna product needs refridgeration.  The Pfizer vaccine needs to be stored at -94F.  Neither my fridge or freezer would work.  How about yours?

Mine would! It's a french-door bottom-freezer LG.

Come to think of it, dry ice and a cooler would also work for the Moderna vac. Too bad someone didn't invoke the Defense Production Act to produce more dry ice, which is now in short supply for some reason.

The Moderna vaccine does not require dry ice.  Just 40F.  Gosh, before you guys complain about Trump and his handling of the situation, I would expect that you would at least be familiar with the basics.

And Mister, your LG freezer does not hit -94F, but I would be interested in the temperature specifications.

Yes, storing and shipping any of the vaccines needs planning and equipment. Trump apparently couldn't wrap his head around that.

Trump's handling of the situation might have included setting up shipping networks so that when the vaccines became available, those networks would be ready.

Of course, he's not bright enough to figure out how that should work, so he should have consulted experts.

Oh, wait, he's not even bright enough to do that.

It hits -18C, which is adequate to store Moderna.

What's the difference, we won't be buying the vaccine at Walgreen's and taking it home to store like Green Giant frozen vegetables.

Given the demographics of the highest-risk populations, the Pfizer vaccine is being shipped to large cities (where healthcare providers have the more sophisticated equipment needed to store it), while the Moderna vaccine is being sent to more rural areas. That's actually a pretty good balance if it keeps up. Of course, vaccinating people in cities is more urgent, because Clem Cornpone, talking only to his cows all day, isn't at much risk of infecting or being infected by anyone.

Your fridge is cold enough to store Moderna.
