My Theory

This is just a theory. I base it on the following facts,  We still aren't testing people, Trump told the states (today) it was up to them to get more ventilators and the CDC told the hospitals (today) that we are running out of protective gear.  Our just in time for-profit healthcare system simply doesn't have enough beds, supplies or staff to treat people.

Trump and his government know they have lost containment. They are claiming they are trying to slow it down so as to not overwhelm the hospitals. The reality is that isn't feasible at this point either. All they are trying to do right now is avoid widespread panic. They have accepted that maybe 5% or more of the population in the US is going to die. Their approach now is to simply let the virus burn through the population as quickly as it can.

Bullshit theory - just like Russian collusion, Kavanaugh hearings, and impeachment.

That is exactly what your team was saying about the virus for two months. It hasn't worked out so well for the country, has it?

You can't even be tested if you have symptoms right now. The only way to get a test is if you are in immediate distress and need to be admitted to the hospital. Even then, there is a good chance you won't get a test.

Wrong, and you know it.

Nope, my wife talked to our state's department of health on the phone tonight.  They won't test you unless you are presenting symptoms and need to be admitted to a hospital immediately. They literally said nothing can be done otherwise.

The bleatings of loyal Trumptards aside, I think Trump and his goons are sincerely trying to mitigate the crisis at this point. Why? Not all the impending deaths, of course. They don't care about that. Trump is afraid that he's going to lose the election.

The CDC does say that social distancing will probably slow the rate of hospital admissions. It also says that that is the only measure we have available at this point. The metric is, everybody's going to get exposed, and a certain number of people will develop Covid-19; a certain number of those will get sick; a certain number will need extensive hospital care; a certain number will die. All we can do is spread it out over time.

What we don't want is for all these cases to hit the hospitals at once. We have to buy time. This is what the actual scientists and medical professionals advising Trump have said to Baby Trump and Fluffy Attack Dog Pence and all the unqualified morons who Trump has placed in positions of authority.

Trump, of course, wants to deflect attention from the fact that the country's poor response was in large part due to his dismantling of the Obama pandemic response team. We saw at a recent press conference that Trump doesn't even want to admit it. And of course, our bleating Trumpers don't want to acknowledge it.

My only hope at this point is that the social distancing actually does reduce the immediate burden on hospitals. Beyond a certain capacity, people who could have been successfuly treated are going to die.

Stalker thinks that if you don't like something, you can make it unreal by saying so and then attacking and insulting the person who says it.

I've also asked about testing and was told that only those who present with symptoms serious enough to warrant hospital admission will be tested. They won't test you even if they DO think you have Covid-19 if your symptoms are not severe. They told me they only have a few test kits available and are reserving them to diagnose the most serious cases.

You seem to forget that things take time. You are of the opinion that if you can think it, then it should happen immediately. Wrong -  but you liberals won't accept reality - you just bitch and bitch and bitch. After this runs it's course, you goons will find something to whine and bitch about. It is who you are.

The level of worldwide panic and distorted, misrepresented data is astonishing.

According to Johns Hopkins University, there are an estimated 1 billion flu cases worldwide, and there are 9.3 million to 45 million cases in the U.S. per year. Last year, there were 291,000 to 646,000 deaths worldwide because of the flu, and there are 12,000 to 61,000 deaths in the U.S. per year, according to Johns Hopkins University.

According to CDC data through Feb. 22, this year there have been at least 32 million cases of flu in the United States, 310,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 flu deaths,

Both the coronavirus and flu cause fever, cough, body aches and fatigue, according to Lisa Maragakis, senior director of infection prevention at Johns Hopkins University, The coronavirus and flu can be mild or severe and even fatal, Maragakis said. Both also can result in pneumonia.

Respectfully, I highly doubt your theory.   The virus won’t burn through the population without overwhelming hospital ICU’s which is what governor Cuomo warned may already be inevitable in NY.    Hopefully not.

Thats not something the the president could bury even if he wanted to.

My theory is as the consequences of the virus mount you’ll see Trump start his signature finger pointing at everyone but himself....probably state governors, municipal leaders, and maybe even VP Pence.
