My Theory

This is just a theory. I base it on the following facts,  We still aren't testing people, Trump told the states (today) it was up to them to get more ventilators and the CDC told the hospitals (today) that we are running out of protective gear.  Our just in time for-profit healthcare system simply doesn't have enough beds, supplies or staff to treat people.

Trump and his government know they have lost containment. They are claiming they are trying to slow it down so as to not overwhelm the hospitals. The reality is that isn't feasible at this point either. All they are trying to do right now is avoid widespread panic. They have accepted that maybe 5% or more of the population in the US is going to die. Their approach now is to simply let the virus burn through the population as quickly as it can.

So who are you blaming now?  Our 'for profit' healthcare system?  Donald Trump personally?  The scientists and technical staff at NIH and CDC? If it was Hillary in the driver's seat, you'd have the exact same people and problems dealing with all the issues.  We'd be in exactly the same spot except maybe there'd likely be be more people infected as she probably wouldn't have shut down travel from China as quickly.

If you think the Federal government bungled the fight against Coronavirus, then maybe you should rethink putting more control of healthcare into the bureaucracy that you think failed us.  I think they're doing their very best and support their efforts to get us through this crisis.  I also think people should shut the fuck up when it comes to fearmongering and sowing panic and politizing this national emergency...like you and your ilk do constantly.

And as for our ability to fight this virus and whether the problem is our 'for-profit' health care system, maybe you should listen to your own presidential candidate instead of just claiming 'Orange Man Bad'.

"With all due respect for Medicare for All, you have a single-payer system in Italy — it doesn’t work there.”

Joe Biden.

If there is a goal to burn through this quickly, then why are we beginning isolation measures?  Indiana is following CDC protocols and we have shut down all restaurants and bars.  About 15 other states have done the same, with more to certainly follow.  I believe England largely has begun a quick burn policy.  No mass isolations there.  This could change due to political pressure, of course.

Bullshit theory - just like Russian collusion, Kavanaugh hearings, and impeachment.

Not to mention eight climate hoaxes, seven Michael Flynns, six perfect phone calls, five Harvey Weinsteins, four Ross Perots,  three Jake Tappers, two Stormy Daniels, and Obamacare in a pear tree. I call your Devon Nunes and raise you TEN BENGHAZIS!  I knew you didn't have any Eric Holders. You think you can win with a pair of Jerry Nadlers? You are a LOSER! Just like Hanoi Jane, Michael Dukakis and Jeffrey Epstein!

And as for the subject of the thread, well, uh, we're running a little late folks, drive safely!

After Trump in January declared a “humanitarian and security crisis" during a primetime Oval Office address, Sen. Chuck Schumer, speaking beside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Trump was working to “manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration." Party leader Tom Perez also called it “manufactured.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., described it as a "'crisis' that doesn't exist." Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted at the time that "we're not falling" for the "fake crisis.

Umm, . . . David Miller's post refers to a different crisis: a porous US/Mexico border and illegal crossings; . . . the Oval Office address was delivered in January 2019.

Democrat favorite Joe Biden call Trump a "Xenophobe" for stopping incoming flights from China! It is an election year I guess.

2009-2010 H1N1 virus hit the states and nearly 13,000 died from it and tens of thousands were hospitalized. Well the Obama team did nothing specifically to counter it until it was 6 months in.

So, maybe instead or constantly pointing a finger at what Trump has not done maybe you should be happy for what they have done in this unique time for us.

How bout we all just hope for everyone''s health in the next few months?

The old saying " can't we all just get along"?

Charles, it is the perfect storm of an incompetent conman President and a healthcare system that is designed to ration care. Hillary wouldn't have fired the pandemic response team, wouldn't have chipped away at Obamacare and wouldn't have sat on her ass ignoring the problem for two months.

Joe doesn't get or want to get how people feel about healthcare. It probably has a lot to do with his doners. His example of Italy is as insincere as a conservative shouting Venezuela.  The fact is every country that has had success containing this has a socialized healthcare system of some type.

I suspect when half the country loses their jobs and we begin burying people in mass graves a lot of people will decide universal healthcare and publically owned health care facilities aren't such bad things.

It is to prevent panic. It makes it seems like the government is taking sensible steps and that things are under control.  It would have been a sensible step if we had taken it a month ago.

Mark - How do you really know what Hillary would do? Once again, you speculate and make up non existant facts to suit your ongoing hatred for President Trump. What you "suspect" and what reality will be have as much chance of being factual as your lying diatrabe's concerning Russian collusion and the farcical impeachment.
