S. Korea economy may contract 2.3%, Germany up to 5%, US up to 16.6%

OK, Charles, New York is full of no-good snowflake liberals, and Rush Limbaugh says that Covid-19 is a liberal disease. That's what you want to hear, right?

CA, OR, and WA took aggressive mitigation measures, which are working, because they have good leadership. New York City's mayor initially dropped the ball, but eventually also issued a lockdown order, which is also working.

Nine Trumper states have no lockdowns in place at all. However, most Trumper states eventually went to lockdowns, albeit later than the west coast States.

So it's been a question of leadership, not party affiliation. The difference between DeBlasio and the nine idiot Trumper governors is that the former realized his mistake and corrected it; the Trumpers doubled down.

Bad leadership kills..

I'm just pointing out the obvious political bias and hypocrisy the previous poster exhibited by leaving off the state with (by far) the biggest death rate and toll.   I guess you didn’t notice how he pointed out Democrat led states vs Republican led states while failing to mention the state with well over half the death toll.

Wrong, asshole, I argued that infant mortality increases caused a drop in life expectancy in the US during a specific four-year period in history. You're the one who brought that up.

Quit twisting my words. It's the act of a coward.

So you agree that the downturn in the economy kills lots of people..............that of course if you consider babies as people.  Angy Kevin proving my point, once again.

Kevin said-" New York City's mayor initially dropped the ball, but eventually also issued a lockdown order, which is also working."-- then he added -"So it's been a question of leadership, not party affiliation. The difference between DeBlasio and the nine idiot Trumper governors is that the former realized his mistake and corrected it"-----Kevin's stupidity exhibited in these two outlandish sentences had surpassed any of his prior postings. Currently New York has 7,349 deaths reported, all due because of the leadership there. "Dropped the ball"??? You mean set into place the deaths and mass infections now in New York. There is some real leadership. Then Kevin ends his posting with this--"Bad leadership kills..

My point went rocketing over your head. It's not a matter of Republican vs. Democrat. You distorted his premise. He wasn't mentioning CA, OR, and WA because they're Democratic states. He was mentioning them because they all took early and aggressive social distancing measures, and those measures are all working.

Many Trumper states have no social distancing in place at all. Still others implemented it far too late to prevent mass outbreaks.

New York belongs in neither category. Its response was poor initially, but it then stepped up. That's why the poster you're freaking out about it didn't mention it--it's a unique case. And that includes its demographics and population density.

You see, you incorrectly assume that everything's about politics and ideology. The West Coast states are doing better, not because of their politics, but because of their leadership.

No, stupid, a drop in life expectancy doesn't kill people unless that drop isn't reversed. And it was.

How convenient that you left off the US epicenter of the pandemic,  New York State.  I'm sure it was an honest mistake.  Yeah right.

Okay, I'll take that bet all day long. Deaths per thousand in New York State vs Florida. Let's see.

Of course he was mentioning those states because they are led by democrats.  And virtually everything you post here is about politics.  You are so self unaware that in your very post claiming it's not all about politics you're making it a political issue "Many Trumper States".   President Trump clearly lives rent free in your head because that's just about all you ever do is attack him and his supporters.

But unlike you and others, I refuse during the middle of a national crisis to attack the efforts of our government....whether it be Donald Trump or Mario Cuomo or Mayor De Blassio or Gavin Newsome.  Whether it be the FDA or the CDC or NIH or State and Local Healthcare agencies that have been constrained by decades of bureaucracy and lack of preparedness.

They are ALL working tirelessly to help the country get through this pandemic.  Did some make errors?  Of course.  Just like in war there are errors.  I have no doubt that ALL of them them…Democrat and Republican leaders are doing the things they think are right for the country or their state or city....except a very few that only know how to complain.

This is not the time for second guessing them or attacking them for their best efforts.  There will be plenty of time to assess what happened and who is really to blame.  Now is the time for all of us to pull together and support their efforts.   But unfortunately you are just acting like a deranged child and taking this crisis as another opportunity to attack President Trump and his supporters like you have been doing since before he was elected.  It’s just wrong.  I think your a sick person.

"It’s just wrong.  I think your a sick person." --- Never were there truer words said.

How much do you want to wager, smart ass?

Population of New York State:  19.45 Million

Covid19 Deaths New York State:  10,367

Population of Florida: 21.48 Million

Covid19 Deaths Florida:  570.

New York is past the peak and Florida is still climbing.  The projected totals are as follows.

New York: 13,463

Florida:       3,999

I'm not interested betting on something like this though.  I'd rather focus on the good things people are doing throughout the country to help their fellow Americans than condemning every action of the Federal Government and some actions of certain state governments.  There will be time to disect and affix blame.  Now is the time to stop being hyperpolitical and start being Americans again.
