Sanctuary cities and states refuse of offer sanctuary.

I didn't dodge your question, Captain..are you just attempting to stir my porridge? I offered an alternative approach to placing them on a bus in the first place. I don't approve of adding any type of suffering to those folks lives; I'm assuming they all must have signed some sort of agreement regardless of their transport type or destination. In summation, I don't think the current immigration / asylum laws in place and enacted by Congress are being adhered to...period. Hell no to the Executive branch being able to unilaterally create orders / laws and/or funding regarding immigration...that's completely and totally under Congressional purview. And the  procedural process itself is in shambles. Further, I think you might be a bit misled regarding the current administration's often-voiced reputation of effusive compassion and humanitarian concern for these migrants..I think they have other more prioritous political intent myself.   And I still have all my natural teeth, though they're shorter than they used to be...so I don't consider myself toothless ( a tad silly, though..occasionally).

Might be back in a week or so..or not.*l*. Carry on.

Charles, while I enjoy your posts, in my opinion I think you are 1) too iltellectual in your verbage and delivery when corresponding with those such as PJ and Lewis and 2) if you want any of these lying mental midgets to comprehend what you are saying, you will have to use smaller words and sentences.

@Charles...respectfully you did dodge that question.  Twice now.   I understand you desire some alternate reality where there would be no bussing of the immigrants.    Thats just dandy !   But your alternate reality doesnt come to fruition without an act of Congress - so when you say "you wouldn't have allowed it to happen"....you're speaking out of context of how our government works.

Our broken immigration system has resulted in two governors bussing assylum seekers to random cities in an uncoordinated fashion without any resources to assist them find work, housing, or any kind of help.   You seem to have a hard time weighing in with an opinion on that reality.

Typical PJ - dissing those who are being most affected by brain dead Bidens border fiasco and condemming them for doing exacxtly what Biden has done the past 21 months. It is not up to these governors and their states to assist, find work, housing or any other kind of help for these illegals. PJ's hypocritical stance speaks for itself.

I do know the Biden administration is processing the legal assylum seekrs in accordance to US laws with the resources we have.    And that doesnt involve being an asshole and bussing kids to random sidewalks in random cities without coordinating for their care.     Being an asshole is the Repiblican soluition to addressing people looking to come to America to make a better life.      And thats ok.  Being an asshole isnt illegal.  its just not something I make an effort to subscrube to

Here's the law, and Biden's ignoring it.  Ignorance and appathy doesn't make one legal.

OK David..I'll ease off on the linguistics..*l*

@PJ...I don't think you got the point I actually made, which was that these migrants shouldn't have been on any bus / plane at all in the first place and then subsequently have to endure whatever bad conditions / suffering might result from that transport. You really are wanting me to specifically denounce Abbott and DeSantis for their actions...I won't. That's what you were after, correct? Made ya earn it. *l*

Let's not pretend that this whole fiasco had anything to do with policy or law. It was a political stunt by a grandstanding governor who wants to burnish his conservative "woke" credentials with the Trumpy base he wishes to inherit. Innocent people were used as pawns and millions of taxpayer dollars were pissed away.

Let's also not pretend that our resident LVA conservitard squad gives the tiniest flying fuck about the law--or about common decency or compassion. They're old, withered little bigots who spend their lives in fear that non-white people will "replace" them.

So as a source of any kind of reasoned debate, this is pointless. I can't and don't want to argue with mean-spirited bigots.

BINGO!   I wanted you to opine on reality.  And you finally did.   You're cool with Abboott/Desantis in regards their  actions.     And you being cool with their cruelty obviously makes you a little uncomfortable - hence your dancing around and talking about alternate universes wherein it wouldnt have happened.

In the spirit of reaching common ground I agree with many of the attributes you outlined in your desires for a better system.  You'll need 60 such people in the United States Senate to make it happen.  I can find 50 for you - they are the ones with (D) and (I) listed nexted to their party affiliation.   Can you name me a single Repuiblican who supports spending billions of taxpayer dollars on building detention centers and hiring more judges and workers?  I honestly dont know a single one.  Do you?

From Boilerman's link that either he didnt read or was hoping you wouldnt.    In summary - people calling the assylum seekers "illegal" are factually incorrect and mostly just angry little crybabies.   Thanks for sytopping by,.

"Asylum is available to persons already in the United States who are seeking protection based on the same five protected grounds upon which refugees rely. They may apply at a port of entry at the time they seek admission or within one year of arriving in the United States. There is no limit on the number of individuals who may be granted asylum each year, nor are there specific categories for determining who may seek asylum. In FY 2019, 46,508 individuals were granted asylum.

Refugees and asylees are eligible to become LPRs one year after admission to the United States as a refugee or one year after receiving asylum."

Of course. Our conservitard assholes, in trying to defend DeSantis's rotten behavior, think that calling his victims "illegals" makes it all justified. Becuz, y'know, thar not really human, are they, Clem?

I'm sick of arguing with bigots. The character flaws that make Boiler, Millerscum, etc. who they are are incurable.

Charles isn't cut from that cloth, but his defense of the Goober Governors' evil and stupid actions is unjustified. Again, trying to argue against evil is usually futile.

I'm sure this will unleash another torrent of insults from our resident white supremacist squad. They're too stupid to realize that insulting us does nothing to exonerate their behavior.

@PJ..Reaching common ground on these assorted issues, when possible, is a worthy and lofty goal. I wish it were easier to accomplish..both here ( and among at least a higher proportion of participants in other public venues) and in DC among our so-called Congressional reps. Currently, that stated goal is not very realistic nor easily attainable, unfortunately. The separation / divide is currently and seemingly insurmountable in so many respects. Yet, you can still have your say as far as I'm concerned. Regarding specific Republican senators who might vote for increased border expenditures, I can think of two or three who might be persuaded if we can find the right kind of torture / extortion methods. Which still wouldn't be sufficient to swing any voting outcomes on the issue.

@Kevin...We're seldom if ever going to agree on these policy  issues, but that's OK and you're likewise free to share your opinions and stances as you see fit from my standpoint.

Besides, I just may lose the bet I made with MrPicture regarding the election outcomes, which will extricate me from the Sink forever. *l*  Then you two will have one less conservative defending his personal brand of horseshit in this environment. *l*

Cheers.
