So did "Sleepy" make Kevin McCarthy bark like a dog?

Democrats werent negotiaing any legislation with the bill.  They just wanted America to not default.   I guess thats the big win for them.   Pretty said thats a partisan priority, isnt it?

Regardless, we've officially set a new precedent going forward.   Bills from Previous COngresses can now be held hostage by a new COngress who is willing to play chicken with the sitting president and our national accounting.    Something tells me when and if the roles are reveresed Republicans will sudennly think its out of bounds to do the shit they're doing now.   If you thought the government was dysfunctional before.....this is the new normal.   Well played.

Yeah, the RepubliQ propaganda has been relentlessly about spending (OOOOOOO! A'SPENDIN!), when the spending decisions were made a year ago. The present debate was actually about paying or not paying the bills.

The present RepubliQ asshole scumbags were trying to retroactively negate the decisions of the previous duly elected Congress. I wonder if they can even see that this sets the stage for when the House flips back, the Democrats could reverse everything the RepubliQ did? That the primary task of Congress will be to negate the actions of the prior Congress?

The RepubliQ really don't give a fuck about their destroying our democracy, do they? And I don't mean that the way Millerscum does ("nobody agrees with me, WAAAAH"). I mean it, for real.

The GOP understands that Democrat proposed spending is unsustainable.  Democrats however, are very willing to sacrifice America's future in return for votes today.  Democrats didn't get their wishes this time, and that's good for America.

cutting IRS enforcement increases the debt.    Anyone like Boilerman who cant grasp that math shouldn't talk about fiscall sustainability.   But they do - and sometimes they even win elections.   And thats why spending grows more under Republican administrations compared to Democrats.   History doesnt lie

It's a loser.

Geezy H Peezy. Do you liberals think there should be any spending restraints at all from Congress? How big does the leviathan government bureaucracy and associated debt reach have to get? I'll be among the first to back the fact that R's have historically over-spent/ increased the debt as well...it's public knowledge. Two weeks ago you folks were predicting an apocalyptic Armageddon because the R's were going to cause a default with the debt ceiling debacle. The fact is both sides compromised to avoid a default on the debt..and both sides barked ( up to this point..it ain't the law yet).

Why Yes !   Liberals just cut spending on drug prices in Medicare so they could be in line with the rest of what the free world pays....and the fiscal hawk Republicans had to be dragged kicking and screaming.

Thanks for asking

In 2019 expenditures were $3.5t.  In 2023 expenditures are $6.3t an 80% incrrease.  What has happened to justify this?

If expenditures had only grown 15% we would have a surplus.

Cheap?  no.  Paid for ?  Yes...or at least until Trump and the Republicans removed the things that paid for it.

BUt thanks for yet another example of how Democrats manage the country's finances better than the people you vote for.

Charles, do you know what a reductio ad absurdum argument is, and how dishonest it is?
