I think that Todd's trying to say that there's very little a rumor could do to worsen her reputation--she's already done that herself. Obviously, spreading misinformation is wrong. But that miserable bitch does that every day.
In other words, what goes around comes around. I find it hard to sympathize if her reputation is besmirched by these allegations.
