Some things to think about

I like the slogans from this am David.  All seem reasonable.

Nobody can really think Covid has a 5% death rate, can they?  The denominator is anyone's death but it is at least 10x more than 2M.  Look up some of the random testing the University's have done on who is really infected.  That 2M was totally sick people that were lucky enough to get tested in our unprepared country.  And no, I don't lean R or L.  Just lean towards using common sense with the data.

Actually, the number of deaths in the US is right about at 5% of the total cases.

You could say that the number of cases is actually higher, since relatively few have been tested--but then, the number of deaths is probably higher as well--deaths that were attributed to something other than the virus itself. So we might as well stick to the 5% figure for the time being.

But does the exact percentage matter all that much? It's deadly, it's killed a lot of people, and it will kill many more. That's all that anyone cares about right now.

The stuff you posted is some random guy's opinion, the statistics he used are unsupported and incorrect, and Todd's name is "Todd."

Perhaps you should stop this habit of posting random Facebook stuff and then leaping all over anyone who disagrees with it. It sure looks as if all you're trying to do is start arguments. And please don't repeat that nonsense that you're trying to show everybody "THE TRUTH!!!!!" It's always merely somebody's opinion, from God knows where.

Of course, you can dismiss what I said, insult me, call me a "lying liberal," call me stupid (all of which are pretty stupid things to do and say), etc. etc.---but just for grins, before you do that, think for ten seconds about whether your tactics serve any constructive purpose other than self-gratification.

After you do that, of course, you can fire up the insult engine.

Hear we go...

Don't feed the troll, Kevin.

In one post on another thread you talk about how contagious it is and then in another you accept 2M cases. I don't disagree with your contagious arguments (yes, it is virus with no vaccine) and usually I agree with most of your points actually but you are woefully off on using 5%.  I work with 65 Drs that would disagree with you. You do understand you are contradicting yourself, right?  You can't have it both ways.  5% is insane.  Again you go back to 2M cases as some type of gold nugget but then in another post you are projecting Trump rally caseloads.  Again, if 10x more people had it that would put the death rate at .5%.  It probably isn't that high even.  I've guessed at 0.5-0.1 all along and I'll side bet you I'm way closer than your 5%.  Again, look at the random sample testing they have done in many many places.  So many asymptomatic people.

You think these people are in your 2M positive case denominator?  You are a smart guy, use some common sense here.

Your argument of how contagious it is assumes right now 2M people have it out of 330M.  Huh?!?!  I agree with you.....highly contagious so up the denominator my friend and what does that do to your 5%?

And there are just as many arguments out there that the death count is overstated as understated.  Lets just agree to accept that as numerator.

David - keep going with the common sense slogan postings.  Most common sense thing I've seen here.

All I am saying is that the number of known deaths is 5% of the number of KNOWN cases.
