I blame the 200k Afghan army and its leader for surrendering. Charles blames the 3k American Troops and their leader for not securing an area the size of Texas.

PJ can only see the world through blue tinted glasses. If it was Trump who botched the withdrawal, he WOULD have lost tremendous support. Just like Biden has. And you can believe it would still be day and night Trump attacks on CNN and NBC and the rest...but since it's Biden, they're moving on to the mandate. Democrats and Republicans would be calling for Trump's impeachment. I certainly wouldn’t be defending Trump for a Fucking Disaster like you've had Sleepy Joe's back until now,
But we also have some evidence of Trump's Middle East actions.
1. The US led the effort to take out the ISIS caliphate occupation of Iraq and Syria and free 7 million people. How many Americans died in this massive war effort?
2. He then withdrew our forces in Syria. I'm old enough to remember all the liberal handwringing over that and how Trump was going to be responsible for the genocide of the Kurds (that never happened)
3. He droned Qasem Soleimani who was responsible for the deaths of Americans. I'm also old enough to remember all of the liberal hand-wringing over that and how Trump was going to be responsible for the war with Iran (that never happened).
4. He brought multiple Arab nations into far better relations with Israel.
What's Biden done?
Opposed the Bin Laden raid.
Botched the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Droned an innocent aid worker and his family.

Neither did democrat congressman and former marine Seth Moulton who rightly points out this was a Fucking Disaster caused by the Biden administration. But PJ just can bring himself to accept the truth about who is responsible.

I'm happy to opine they are both wrong. Neither can explain what the alternative solution was whereby our force of 3000 soldiers and advisors could somehow replace the security maintained by the 200k Afghan army that surrendered. ANd, guess what? Neither can you or any of the other pundits trying to play politics with this mess.
Thoughtful people who legitmately say an action was a mistake can articulate what alternative action should have been taken instead. Page 3 of this thread and you havent done that. Dont worry - the people you cited have not done it either.
Playing politics? Politics had nothing to do with the manner in which Biden and his military cronies handled the withdrawl from Afghanistan. They screwed this up and refuse to admit it, period. During this fiasco thousands of Afghan and Americans have needlessly suffered and died for their stupidity. There was no need for an "alternative solution" for the withdrawl if Biden had of followed the withdrawl guidelines that President Trump had put into place to insure a safe removal of ALL personnel before recalling American troops.
More Afghans who supported us are being slaughtered each day, and the Liberals on this site believe that this is inconsequential. How sad.
