This man has it right!

I think it is safe to say that not much of anything is 100%.   But to assert that only "five or six" people living in a southern state are not "gun-toting, mouth-breathing [?], drooling..." Lil' Abner characters is so ridiculous I can't even express it.  If you actually believe this, then nothing you say can be believed.  Or maybe you are just mean-spirited 'in general.'

You are right, my generalizations, by design, did not specify race.  Because any discussion here in Kitchen Sink that even hints at anything having to do with race provides you with a bully pulpit and there you go without considering anyone else's side, or even their right to have a side, about anything.

Hey, slight digression, ever see the movie "Major League"?  Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger.  Baseball comedy, a favorite of mine.  There is a scene when pitcher Rick Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) throws a wild one, gets verbally insulted by the opposing players.  Vaughn starts giving it back big time and isn't stopping.  The manager tells the assistant manager "I think it is time to go get Vaughn."  The assistant goes out on the field, tosses the screaming protesting Vaughn over his shoulder to take him off the field.   This is actually my vision of what will have to happen on the day Joe Biden is sworn in, or the day Trump has to be removed from the White House, over some guys' shoulders.  It will take some big guys, but I can see it happening just that that.  So, there.  I can be much more broad minded than you think I am!

More of the same false equivalence Trumper shit. Being against racism and being for racism are not equally valid stances, any more than being for and being against slavery are equivalent. So are you saying there is a pro-racism "side" I am bound to respect? Feel free to consider me "mean-spirited" for not condoning racism. I can take it. In fact, I've found that being an advocate of damn near anything, including cotton candy and cute white bunnies, can get you screamed at and called names. In fact, I'm sure that some member of the Black Bunny Foundation is loading his rifle right now.

Obviously, Candy, I was baiting you--and you rose to the bait. I fully acknowledge that there may be as many as two dozen non-redneck, non-Trumper white people in the South. Actually, I suppose I could easily find in the South some people who hate fried chicken and consider guns to be distasteful. On second thought...naah!

As to whether Trump will be carried out of the White House--given how much he weighs, wouldn't asking someone to do that be a violation of OSHA safety guidelines? I think a cable attached to a tow truck would be a much less dangerous option.

I think both sides want the division. The far left and the cancel culture and calling anybody that likes Trump stupid along with the MSM promoting racial injustice and saying it's all Trumps fault is just as bad as Trumps people calling the left communist and cheaters and non-American. Both sides get defensive when called names like most people do and it turns into a who can insult the other group more.

Your thoughts are wrong. It isn't both sides. Trump is currently trying to stage a coup because he lost the election. Trump is currently ignoring an out of control pandemic because he can't get over having lost an election. Trump blasts out conspiracy theories 24-7.

Former Trump campaign chief and Trump administration official Steve Bannon wants to decapitate the FBI Director and Fauci. What does meeting conservatives in the middle on an issue like this mean? Agreeing to cut out their tongues instead?

There will be no compromise until the Republican party regains its sanity. And I wouldn't hold my breath for that. The people that are driving it insane are making too much money to stop.

Nope. Stupid and irrelevant comparison. "Blacks not taking advantage of educational opportunities" is pejorative and false. "Blacks are more likely to contract sickle cell anemia" is not pejorative, nor it is false.

You are obtuse---Lord, how obtuse---but you can't convince me that you're so obtuse that you can't see this distinction.

Looking back, Boilerman quoted his friend as saying Blacks do not take "enough advantage" (my bolding) of educational opportunities.  We would have to ask the friend to elaborate on exactly what he said and what he meant before labeling anybody racist.  Does the friend believe Blacks do not look for eduation opportunities, or are presented with opportunities but are just not interested?  That Black students don't know to inquire of their school counselors about programs and/or scholarships available?  That Blacks do not believe in themselves (for many reasons) sufficiently to think they could advance educationally?   That social, medical, parental, other factors hold them back?  These are all true for kids of every race, including the Black race.  To acknowledge that these things exist, to have regret that they exist, is hardly racist.

Semantic distinction. The point is, Boiler's "friend" offered an opinion that was irrefutably incorrect--at least, when stated as a generalization about an entire race! Just where did his friend acquire the chops and the knowledge to make such a statement? Is he an expert on race relations and education? What makes him qualified to say what constitutes "ENOUGH" advantage?

I'll make the distinction finer if you like. Saying that Blacks are not afforded enough educational oppotunities would not be racist. Saying that those opportunities exist but that they do not take advantage of them IS racist--because it implies that it's due to some failing on their part, rather than of society, as in the first statement.

Stating the truth that blacks are not taking advantage of educational oppotunities is not evil.  Kevin's unwillingness to recognize this truth, which is easily confirmed, and his unwillingness to discuss this problem helps to fuel a continuation of this problem.

Perhaps, if that actually was the truth--but it's a flithy, racist lie.

Is Kevin is too lazy to Google SAT test score by race?  Is Kevin too lazy to Google high school and college graduation rates for the varioius racial demographic groups?  Is Kevin too lazy to look at how many blacks achieve technical degrees from college?  Kevin's too lazy.

Here's one point of reference that Kevin is unwilling to consider................well, possibly because he's never bothered to search for this data.  How does one become an adult and not have a clue about blacks not getting educated?  By the way, this data is a generalization, and that stuff scares Kevin.

Your flailing efforts to justify your racist comments strangely resemble Trump's flailing efforts to nullify the election. (Stupid, futile, not based on facts...)
