It seems last night [technically, very early today] "protesters had breached the reinforced fence around the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in downtown Portland. Federal agents deployed multiple rounds of tear gas, and Portland police shortly after declared the gathering a riot about 1:15 a.m."

That is, . . . the federal officers whom President Trump had sent to protect federal property during the not-so-peaceful "demonstrations" in Portland protected federal property during the riots of the night of 25/26 July, . . . exactly as intended.

It's nice when a plan comes together.

For the record, poor old DonDiego is happy to report there have been no riots within earshot of DonDiego since he relocated to his new home some months ago.

DonDiego, you must agree that protestors damaging property owned buy certain people is not considered violent by Liberals.  How dare you consider this so?

It is truly sad that DonDiego approves of this.

The FEDERAL officers were NOT on FEDERAL property when they committed acts of violence against protestors. They were on the city streets of Portland--which do NOT belong to the FEDERAL government. Trump's goons have no legal authority or business there.

Firing tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash grenades into crowds does nothing to protect federal property. But it sure feels compelling to bullies--like Trump. And, apparently, sadly...DonDiego.

What those who support the bullies don't realize is that the presence of Trump's thugs escalates the situation and will inevitably lead to more violence. That's what Trump wants, of course--anything to distract from his failed Presidency.

Trump sends Border Patrol and ICE agents to occupy a city dressed up as soldiers and people have a negative reaction. How does this surprise anybody? Trump is a fascist thug and he is trying to flush the country down the toilet as his presidency is down to nothing but dying embers.

When Hitler was cowering in his bunker as the Russians closed in, he ordered the flooding of the city's subways, which citizens were using as bomb shelters, and thousands drowned. He didn't even bother to warn anyone. For some reason, that comes to mind.

When fascist dictators are going down for the third time, they actively seek to take their subjects with them. The particularly deranged elements of the alt-right fantasize about a race war (they have some kind of dumb name for it, which I forget). Is that what Trump is trying to do?

When people on this board invoked "Adolf Hitler" when NYC was proposing limits to soft drink sizes....that was hyperbole.

When people on this board invoked "secret police" when unidentified government agents abducted citizens and threw them in unmarked cars without charging them with anything....thats a balls-on accurate metaphor.
