Exactly! Trump no longer cares they have nuclear weapons if they will quit the war Trump started.

It doesn't matter whether any one of us is "okay" with that. It doesn't matter if the US is "okay" with that. It doesn't matter if Trump is "okay" with that. They're entitled to arm themselves as they see fit. We have no treaty with them that prohibits that. We DID have such a treaty, but Trump reneged on it.

If Iran has a nuclear weapon, it's not going to be the big deal all the Bibis and MAGAs think it is. If they launch any kind of strike, Teheran will be destroyed--if not by us, then by Israel. What keeps us safe from nuclear attacks isn't that we blow up every other country's nuclear arsenal--it's deterrence, which means that no one would dare to attack us, because we will annihilate them.

That will be the case even if Iran does develop nuclear weapons and delivery systems.

They know, though, he's in a very weak position, and they have no particular reason to end the war, They want reparations, which is fair--we caused tens of billions of dollars' worth of damage and killed thousands of their citizens. They want security guarantees, which, given that the Turd will still be around, is also fair.

But they're going to want control of the Strait, which is a non-starter, and US withdrawal from the Middle East, ditto. So after the usual back and forth, both parties will agree to a resumption of the prewar status quo. And we will have spent an insane sum of money, fucked over the world's economy as well as our own, depleted our stock of munitions, and killed thousands of innocent people...for nothing.

It's rough justice that we're suffering from this mess, because we caused it. Of course, both sane people and MAGAs are getting raped at the pump and the grocery store, but only the latter deserve it. But we sane people also bear the burden of responsibility, because we didn't kill every single MAGA, as we should have, years ago. We let them live, and let them vote in the Turd, AGAIN, and now we're all paying for that mistake.

The Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard--a person with which I play pool every Thursday (?)--could not find an imminent threat and said Iran had not tried to even restart enrichment since the strikes last summer.  But, if you're a neocon, every international event looks like an "imminent threat."

Let's cut to the chase--there isn't and never has been any "imminent threat"; there's only been Israel playing Trump like a big fat, ugly, decrepit fiddle. But of course, retroactively, when this war turned out to be the massive clusterfuck everyone knew it would, MAGA has to pivot to, "well, we had no choice, imminent threat, babble blabber blab."

I don't give a fuck if Israel and Iran are mad at each other, and I sure as hell don't want to get thousands of dollars vacuumed from my wallet to pay for their arguments.
