Turd gas prices easing a bit?

While there's no resolution as yet to the Turd War, it seems as if MAYBE the gas monsters are lowering their prices every so slightly. The last week or so has seen our prices drop back below $5/gal. Not much of a reduction, but I'm surprised to see any reduction at all.

Of course, Big Oil has been making hundreds of billions "extra" from us, as their products aren't any more expensive for them to obtain as they were before the start of the Turd War. So even though it's the beginning of summer and this is a holiday weekend, we didn't see a price spike here. Maybe Big Oil is feeling benevolent??

What's the trend where you are in the last week-plus? Up, down, or steady?

My local Arco has been cheaper than Costco for a couple years.  So has Safeway.

But have the prices at your local Arco gone down recently?

Our prices dropped 39 cents in the last 3 days.  3.78 today.  It will be interesting to see how high the stock market goes after the 1000 point gain the dow had this week

That illustrates for me just how irrational the stock market is. There is no reason why ANY business sector except Big Oil should be happy about the developments of the last few months. The market should be in the toilet right now.

Paid $5.79 today at Costco.   The highest I have ever paid.  Ugh.

Yeah, I was wondering if the small local price drop was due to some unanticipated factor, like travel being diminished. Anecdotally, I've talked to a few people who had planned road trips for this weekend but decided not to at $5+ a gallon.

The bad news is, even if the Turd gives up tomorrow, gas and food prices will stay high for the rest of the year.

Our state suspended their gas tax (36 cents) so it went down to $4.29 a gallon in my area. In reality if you add the tax back in, it went down by 10 to 15 cents.

But I understand Trump is being heavily pressured by Rupert Murdoch, Israel and several Republican hawks in Congress, to not do the deal as it will leave Iran as the strongest power in the region. If that comes to pass, gas prices will continue to rise with no end in sight.

Iran has no Air Force, navy or air defense. Their missile capability is severely diminished. The US can bomb them at will.

Inflation is over 70% and they have gas and food shortages. Their overall economy is in shambles.

They are far from the strongest power in the Mid East.
