They are strong enough to shut down the Strait and that's all that matters.     Nobody was ever afraid of their military power.    They  were afraid of the scenario we have now.    

But you're right....we used half of our mega billion ammunition pile to destroy their 1950's military infrastructure.   If that's how you measure success then we won in VietNam too by the same metric.       

Tom, as long as they control the straight, I disagree with you as they have enormous leverage. Bombing isn't going to do anything to keep them from controlling the straight. And if we continue, the stalemate indefinitely, we could end up seeing $20 a gallon gas a year from now.  Do you think we would survive as a country if that happened?

But yes, if the agreement is made, and it is as reported, we got almost nothing and made all the concessions so they will be the strongest power in that part of the world. 

And you also have to think about the long-term consequences of what happened. If you look at the situation in Ukraine, that exposed the Russian military, as not very formidable, which means they are no longer feard to the same degree they were before.

If you look at the situation we are in our military has also been exposed as being not  that formidable in modern warfare that relies more on inexpensive drones, cyber attacks or communications disruptions.

And at some point, it is likely that Russia or China will provide some sort of aid to Iran to keep them from completely collapsing.  I note after Trump's visit to China, we suspended arm sales to Taiwan.  I suspect that was a trade to keep us from interfering with China's plans for Taiwan.

Yeah, they had 33 missile sites that could reach the Strait. After Trump's massive Precision Retribution War, they now have only...30. 

They have far fewer schoolgirls after we bombed them out of existence.

But their strength lies in their geography. Like it or not, they can control the Strait. And we can't do anything about it--not by force, anyway.

The US military at a loss if a single plane wiped out the Iranian leadership, navy, Air Force and air defense. 

The Chinese and Russian equipment failed. 

Over 95% of the missile and drones were shot down.  The army is hiding in bunkers. 

Their ships can't get thru the blockade and their economy is in shambles. 

But in the warped liberal mind the Iranians are winning. 

Let's see, didn't you predict that Iran would "collapse in a week"?   Something about inflation, no oil storage, workers would revolt, or similar?  I guess I missed all of that three months into this adventure.  By the way, is Iran going to have its enriched uranium when Trump agrees to this settlement?

Those 5% that got through did billions of dollars of damages to our bases in that part of the world and did billions of dollars of damage to our allies, oil, production, facilities.  if we continue to bomb them, they are going to continue to target those oil producing facilities which again will drive gas prices, even higher. 

They still have 70% of their missle stockpiles so they can continue to attack our assets and allies in that region.

I never said the war would be over in a week.

If Iran still has 70% ( a doubtful number anyway) of its missiles why did the number of missiles they shot go down every day.
