We Have Passed France And South Korea As We Rocket Towards #1

And here I thought that you were going to stop posting insults and actually discuss things for a change. Silly me.

There you go again. I suppose you consider it an insult when one states the obvious, which was "all you do is complain". If that truthful statement is considered an insult, well, so be it.

I do a lot more than complain, so your insult is also a lie. Do you do anything other than insult people?

You seem to not want to behave like a decent human being. So, insult away. Perhaps you simply can't control yourself. You will reply to this post, and that reply will contain an insult. So go ahead, get your rocks off.

As of about 11 hours ago, we have tested a little less than 60k people. South Korea has tested 290,000+. All of their cases were clustered around one city. We have nationwide clusters, so proportionally we would have to test hundreds of thousands near each cluster to get accurate numbers. It seems clear to me there is no intention to test people, even when we get testing kits unless they are experiencing respiratory distress to hold our numbers artificially down for political reasons.  Hence my theory they have decided to let it burn through the country unabated. So, my underlying point is we are being kept in the dark so we can't draw a correct conclusion.

Even with that effort to conceal the truth, we are likely to end up with more reported cases than any other country including China.

Actually, 50% of all U S cases are in ten counties in 3 states. Maybe letting it burn through is a good idea. Global pandemics lead to death. Global economic collapes leads to war, famine, starvation, homelessness, new disease spread, and even more death.

22k+ Positives. We have passed Iran and Germany for the #4 spot.

I expect that number to climb after spring break in Florida.

What a bunch of assholes on this thread, why don't you all stop this pissing contest you got going and just shut up. Sheesh

I gather that you are, with your unconstructive and critical post, complaining about the unconstructive and critical nature of other people's posts.

What is discouraging is the celebratory attitude, the gloating about increasing numbers of cases in the US.  No secret why that is (the gloating).

It isn't helpful.  We have the info that is helpful...precautions to take, what to do if we feel sick, screening and/or testing sites if we rule in to be tested.

All of us are rightly concerned what's happening, but I am also extremely pleased and proud to learn of good things being done to help people in my town and state.  Probably some happening everywhere.

Individuals, businesses, banks, restaurants, charities around my town are creating and implementing different ways of doing business to help citizens.   A restaurant owner who can't stay open worked into the night packaging her food in containers to give out (free) to people in need.  A large grocery distributor is working with two stores that can't get deliveries from the bigger suppliers (they are backed up due to customer hoarding), delivering to them from his warehouse at his cost and less.  Landlords around here are waving 3-6 months rent for their renters who have had hours cut or been laid off.  My bank has sent notice of waving withdrawal fees and all sorts of other costs associated with accounts, so many ways to help on that list I can't remember them all.   Schools that normally provide an extra meal during school day to certain low income children are figuring out how to get food delivered to them since the schools are closed.  The teachers and principals are taking part in that and in other projects to help and stay connected.  Some teen students are 'visiting' nursing homes from the outside, waving and singing to patients from their windows since visitation has been prohibited for now.  Did you see where hospital staff are cutting and sewing face masks out of surgical drape material, to be worn over the N95 masks, extending their use to help with the shortage?

It seems that sometimes the worst of times brings out the best in people.  It is TNTC for me to list everything I've seen and read about---that means Too Numerous To Count.  The good things that are happening, around my town anyway.

There is nothing celebratory. Just the facts. Trump and his cronies are still pumping out lies on a daily basis, anybody can get a test that wants one, there will be a cure in just a few weeks, it's under control, there is a miracle drug out there, I have done a wonderful job handling the pandemic, I give myself a 10 and so on. Trump's gross incompetence means hundreds of thousands will needlessly perish. You're ok with that.  You made that clear. I am not.

Some people see politicians following Trump's lead publicly agreeing with him that it is a hoax and nothing to worry about while selling off their stock portfolio because they have secret information that shows otherwise. Those people say anybody would do that. It is perfectly acceptable. I do not. Not only did they commit felony insider trading if they would have shown an ounce of courage they would have publicly said no it isn't under control and we ought to be preparing for the worst as the warm weather isn't going to take care of.  It is a matter of simple humanity. Instead, these crooks decided to enrich themselves. Some people cheer that on.

Some people would rather provide excuse after excuse for public officials engaged in criminal conduct and out and out incompetence.  Then they morally judge those that call those public officials out on it.  It is a moral failing of the greatest magnitude.
