Candy, I agree that many of our citizens are reacting magnificently to this crisis.

I think we wouldn't be emphasizing Trump's blundering up to this point if he'd just shut the fuck up now. But he insists on pitching lies, with a new emphasis on instilling false hope and making himself look good. How many people have taken or are taking him at face value and not practicing social distancing? And how many people will get sick and die as a result?

It was a lovely day today; I went to a local park for a walk. Lots of people there, and NO ONE staying a reasonable distance from others. How many of those people were Trumpers who believe that Trump's miracle drug is coming?

I do wish Trump would be a leader and think of someone besides himself--but his mental pathology prevents that. I'm seeing all sorts of generous and selfless acts, all around me, and I hate the fact that those efforts are being negated because Trump is lying to his ever-credulous base.

Sad, just sad.

David, I agree it is very sad. A complete failure of leadership at the top has moved us to 3rd in the world now.  How can you continue to justify such failure? 

 How would you justify these failures; 1) Russian collusion farce, 2) Supreme Court Judge nomination farce,3)the impeachment farce? You are on record with your past comments concerning all of these, and how do you justify your comments? Again we find nothing but negative comments from the same people. People all over the world are getting sick and dying. No one nation was prepared for this crisis. Yet all we hear is that this crisis now in America is just one person's fault. The only common denominator I see is hatred, and, once again, from the same people. When this crisis ends, there will be more of the same negativity from the same people. The track record is there and undeniable. I believe it is time for people to take a long hard look in a mirror and honestly asses who they really are. 

That David is the best post you have ever had here at LVA and agree with you completely! Trump is under intense pressure and stress, yet they bitch constantly! It took Obama 6 months to ever address the swine flu that killed a few thousand and they are silent on that!

The millions spent on the Russian farce would come in nicely now!

Is it my imagination that Rodger Stone, Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen and George Papadopoulos are all doing time or have pled guilty to felonies?  The government confiscated enough money from Paul Manafort to pay for all or most of the investigation.  Plus, Trump got caught obstructing justice ten times. 

What would have been nice is if Trump would have spent two months directing the Federal Government to prepare this pandemic instead of pretending it was a hoax that was going to magically go away in the warm weather.  

Hundreds of thousands are going to die because Trump dithered and all you two can do is make sad excuses. 

Why don't you and David answer this question for me?  Do you agree with Trump that he deserves a 10 out of 10 for how he handled this? 

Your question about giving a grade reminds me of the skydiver, upon realizing his parachute did not deploy, wanted to know who packed his parachute as he hurtled to Earth.

Wow, David, that is an apt comparison. Trump is the guy that packed the parachute that failed. 

Yes, I get it, David. We are all hurtling towards the ground without a parachute because Trump didn't bother to pack them. Oops! Well, all that matters is he gave himself a 10 out of 10 on parachute packing.
