Anyone whose place of employment was shuttered or scaled back by order of their state due to the pandemic.
And since I know you will respond to that with something about "liberals" we can use deep red Indiana as one example where restaurants, bars, hotels, airlines, schools, sporting events, concerts, conventions, and offices had to adjust staffing for state laws and lack of business from nobody travelling.
SO if Boilerman thinks we would be in a better place by sending all those people to the breadlines instead of suffering a few years of inflation then he is entitled to. Many Trump voters feel the same way....and just like Boilerman they only started feeling that way once Trump left office. Now they say only checks written by Democrats add to the money supply. I invite everyone else to point and laugh
Breadlines? Stupid much? By January of 21 the econonmy was recovering nicely. Unemployment had gone from 14.7% at the height of the shutdown to 6.5% AND WAS TRENDING in a perfect V as the slow to reopen blue states realized they couldn't stay closed for business forever as we rolled out the vaccine.
Economists (like Democrats Larry Summers and Jason Furman) estimated there was a 50 billion dollar shortfall per month in demand and warned that the $150 billion a month stimulus from the partisan 2 trillion dollar American Recovery Act would lead to devistating inflation. To add insult to injury, the Biden team's green energy cult began it's efforts to end fossil fuels the day Joe took office....leading to crushing energy costs for Americans.
Now, after providing 10 different phony excuses for inflation you try to tell us the choice was really between breadlines and out of control inflation? You tell us Americans need to buck up and accept their declining real wages because 'at least you have a job'? Bullshit.
The real choice was between blindly implementing an inflationary big spending and 'green' agenda and continuing on a path of reasonable growth with stable prices. Notice how I didn't say no spending was justified. You tried to paint the false choice of spend big or spend nothing. Unfortunately Democrats made the wrong choice to spend three times what was needed.....even though warned of the likely results. Americans have been suffering a declining standard of living because of it.
Next you'll tell us that's a good thing. And if it's a hard landing because we have to crash the economy to wring out inflation, you'll cheer that on too and claim that's what Republicans wanted. You can't make this shit up....but thanks for trying....It gives me a good laugh.
And as for Boilerman's original post of Democrats changing the definition of a recession....it's not surprising.
They tell us there are now 52 genders.
They can't define a woman.
They've redefined infrastructure and Jim Crow and Court Packing and Bipartisan.
Let's hope they aren't redefining stagflation or worse...depression next.
