When is the US in an economic recession?

For those who can't remember when biden & the democrats loved GDP, just 6 months ago

"In 2021, we had the fastest economic growth since 1984," he said on social media. "The Biden economic plan is working, folks." The "White House" said in a statement, "We just learned that President Biden's first year in office was the strongest year for economic growth since 1984

The comments followed a government report that the economic grew at an annualized rate of 6.9% in the final quarter of 2021, putting the year's growth at 5.7%. Multiple liberals joined the campaign promoting the talking point, including Sen. Chuck Schumer, who said, "You're going to want to make sure your friends see this

How we have have the second qtr in a row of declining GDP & the biden gang now says the GDP doesn't count.

Other weak economic news

Housing starts down

Housing sales down

Unemployment claims up

Inflation 9%+

Job participation down

Car sales down

Oil still around $100

Walmart (who has almost a 10% mkt share) anticipates retail sales down

Kevin was piping about GDP as well all over this site.  It never ceases to amaze me how liberals flip flop.

of course we'll never actually experience the massive unemployment and devastating recession that would have happened if there had been much less pandemic relief available.

Unemployment had been coming down for months, inflation was low & the GDP was growing.  There was no need for additional spending.

The biden gang said inflation was transitory, for rich people & said there isn't a recession.  Yet we are to believe them for the future & continue to elect them

The only thing that matters to you conservitards is that you're not currently in charge, so let's not pretend that you give a flying fuck about any one economic data point.

Bitch away; it's what you do best.

Folks, for 100 years a recession has been defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GNP.  We have experienced two consecutive quarters of negative GNP.

Liberal lies don't change these facts.

Inflation is an attribute of an economy that is overheated.   Recession is an attribute of an economy that is slowing down.

The latter is what you want if you care about curing inflation.  If you want to cry about inflation and the cure for inflation at the same time then you are by definition a right-wing poster on the LasVegasAdvisor message board

Nope. A recession must also be accompanied by rising unemployment.

But who cares about semantics? You Cons will bitch bitch bitch no matter what.
