Thanks for adding to my earlier post about Trump lacking any sort of humanity; calling dead Veterans suckers and losers, mocking the reporter with CP, ridiculing McCain who survived enemy capture and torture, inexcusable. Abominable. And how it looks to the leaders of other countries who mourn their own honored dead. As in "Damn, the US president hates his own citizens!"
It all goes into perception. I have perception, everyone has perception. Whether Trump's accomplishments 'trump' those behaviors I/we find disgusting, his abhorrent behavior is watched world wide, and it matters. Again, it matters, IMHO. Embarrassing if nothing else.
Candy
It's also important whether those perceptions are accurate. In these days of relentless media coverage of everything, a President's every twitch and grunt is repeatedly, thoroughly, and remorselessly analyzed. However, that info is restricted to the President's mostly scripted public appearances and pronouncements.
Trump, though, has a compulsively sick social media channel, the purpose of which seems to be "Hey, everybody, look at what an asshole I am!" To the extent that he even has a filter at all, that filter is completely absent in his Lies Social posts.
I have to repeat, therefore, that his recent behavior, while perhaps hitting a new low, is nothing new. Shouldn't EVERYBODY have been utterly disgusted by him long ago? How can anyone have thought that he would be a good leader of our country?
I remember a satirical comic strip in an "alternative" newspaper from 2016, wherein a character observes, "This election should not be even remotely close," referring to the outing of Trump's previous bragging about "grabbing them by the pussy." I thought at the time, "My God, people's political careers have been ended for less," and expected Clinton to crush him after that. But I forgot that she was a WOOMUN and thus, had very little chance of being elected
Still, I am deeply ashamed for my country for not having learned its lesson.
Again, the returned criticism is not the issue; rather, it is the way and manner in which it was done. Trump's response was crude, insulting, disgusting, and above all, unpresidential.
Stupid Tom, you keep putting words in other people's mouths and then criticizing what they never said. That's called a "straw man" argument, and is flaccid and weak. No one has said that the Pope is or should be immune from criticism.
Smarten up at least a little. Jesus!
I am a independent.Have voted both sides.Yet not for Mr.Trump.
Tom and the Tea Party had their feelings crushed when Obama said this:
"You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college."
Obama hates Las Vegas ! My God, what do we tell the children?
But the president shitting on the pope? Nothin to see there.
I honestly can care less. Trump's barf on social media isnt anything I get anxiety about. It doesnt make my top 20 list of legitimate gripes I have with him and his corrupt administration.

For me, it's more a continuation of the same gripe: that he's a mean-spirited, uncouth asshole.
However, that's not the end of it by any means. He simply makes horrible, stupid decisions. 99% of what he does is to benefit himself; yet, he even fucks that up. And he does extremely consequential things with no planning or forethought.
In stark contrast, LBJ was also a mean-spirited, uncouth asshole, but he accomplished some good things, including getting the Civil Rights Act passed, which was dead in the water (direct quote from a Southern senator: "Niggers aren't really people") until he did a LOT of arm-twisting, which he was very good at. So his presidency, aside from his character, was beneficial to the nation. Trump's presidency...isn't.
BTW Woody Harrelson as the titular LBJ in the movie did a great portrayal of the man.
