You call everyone a liar. Therefore, what you say has no meaning.

Not everyone - just you - and it is not "calling" when saying you are a liar,  it is a proven fact which is verifiable to everyone who reads your drivel..

Look into a mirror and repeat what you have said here - it aptly applies to you, Toad.

You must enjoy playing high house edge games, because you just spinned the Big Wheel on that 99%D / 3%R split assumption thing. Almost none of these politicians (R or D) have the STFU option on their ideological keyboards...at least prior to the people raising hell about something (eg SSI /Medicare benefit checks).

Both sides have been using that government shutdown threat for multiple decades. It's  most often used as a legislative weapon they employ to browbeat their opponents and spread fear in the citizenry. I hope a shutdown doesn't happen strictly from the people's standpoint.. recipient benefits and govt workers furloughs have often been exempt from shutdown effects in the end, although certainly administrative inefficiencies occur when they experience these argument extensions(applications for benefits are put on hold, etc.)

If they shut it down, I hope any cuts made will eventually improve some procedural efficiencies and cut some waste as a goal (can you say 'never'?)..but not at the expense of the people ( grandma/ grandpa benefits  and govt. employee paychecks). Seldom if ever has the latter occurred (outside delayed furlough checks), historically speaking. These shutdowns are like a fireworks show lit and presented from Pennsylvania Avenue..it's just a continuation of the divide in heavy public view.

Mr. Both-Sides, Charles, strikes again! But this time with a difference: This time he's just lying.

They have. Look it up, Beatrice. Look to those eras when the D's controlled both houses of Congress, and / or when the President was a D. Or look to the instances when those roles are reversed, for that matter. I'd concede that the R's may have been more directly responsible for it in more recent years..in their effort to curtail the Congress from spending us into oblivion. In those instances where they were apparently more responsible, it was

usually about deficit reduction and reduced spending. That is the core reason for most shutdowns even though multiple additional and separate issues are debated....but that's a basic infallible difference between the two parties..again, generally speaking. It takes two to tango in this shutdown musical, Delbert. So if you really want to adhere to real truths instead of calling folks a liar, the fact is both parties have and will continue to contribute to the incidence of shutdowns; it's inherent differences in the ideological approach to spending as a base cause ( not each and every time, but often). Though, R's are somewhat more fond of spending tax dollars on things that explode / make noise / fly faster and further, etc. I'll admit to that.

And, since you called me a liar..you can kith my azimuth...and subsequently plant the accusation deep in your sigmoid flexure. After those actions take place we're even, you pot-stirrer.

Have a nice day, though.

Remember Charles, you are not dealing with the sharpest knife in the drawer when you have discourse with him...

Nothing but nastiness from David, and nothing of thought or substance.
