World Health Organization: Covid lockdowns doing more harm than good

As I've said all along, the economic lockdowns are doing more harm than good.  Liberals with Trump Derangement Syndrome who loved the WHO will now scoff at WHO's new message.  Why, you ask?  Because the TDS folk's hatred of Trump runs far deeper than their concern for the wellbeing of people.

I read that article yesterday. I immediately said to myself, "I'll bet Boilerman is going to read this and then post a crowing self-congratulation that he was right all along." Bingo!

Has Kevin not said that we should be paying attention to WHO opinion?  Does Kevin believe that a smaller number of lives lost to Covid are more important and terrible than the the larger number of lives lost by other means and reasons?  In this case, deaths which have been caused by the supposed cure.

No country is "under lockdown"  - most of all ours.    We dont have any national response to COVID beyond a leader who points fingers at 50 governors who all are tasked with their own response in lieu of our feckless national leadership.

The doctor is referring to the response we had in early Spring which he actually agrees with...but does not believe should be the solution at the present time.    And it isn't.     Thank you, Captain Obvious.

(Oh, and I understand Boilerman, PJMedia (no relation), and FOX News continue to  blame our national, executive response on people who are not running the national, executive branch of government.     Good luck selling that one)

Any lockdown...national, statewide, or local... kills the economy.  Mandated masks kill the economy.  Any policy which changes our daily lives kills the economy.  One only needs to look at GDP as proof.

We should not be wearing masks because this eliminates the fun and enjoyment of restaurants, of travel, of gambling, and of virtually all other experiences.  I experienced the effects on people's willingness to sit at a blackjack table with a mask.  I would estimate thay my group of 14 gambled 80% less week when compared to last year.  The cure kills the economy which kills people.  It's a fact that even the WHO finally has recognized.

Your first paragraph is complete BS and not supported by the WHO or the doctor you originally cited.

Lockdowns  done at the personal level (ie: every senior citizen in the country) occur because shitkicking yahoos cant take the simple action of wearing a mask to knock down the pandemic.   And thats why liberal-Canada is doing alot better economically than we are.  They dont have to contend with shitkicking yahoos who have made basic health protocols a political issue.

PJ might want to watch the video within with article.  The man who speaks second and during a majority of the video is Dr. David Naborro, of WHO's Special Envoy.  He talks about about economies being crushed by lockdown policies is with WHO.

In short, the data shows that Boilerman is not being honest about having to choose between fighting the disease and reopneing the economy...and neither is the person he's voting for president.    But nevertheless, that leadership has failed on both metrics.

Economic hardship is not the same as death. Boilerman uses the hyperbolic phrase "crushing the economy" to refer to an economic slowdown. Yes, his point has a tiny bit of validity, in that people can die as a result of economic hardship. But we're not so badly off that that has to happen. The economy is still functioning, and we have vast resources.

That's why the government needs to intervene and provide people with the means to survive the pandemic. Yes, the "free shit" that Boiler continually whines about is the best way to help people avoid making the awful choice between risking their lives and paying the bills.

Boiler doesn't realize that what one person says, or a few people say, does not constitute the views of the entire organization to which they belong. Thus, his thread title is a lie.

Boiler also doesn't realize that a "news" article titled "...wrecks the democrats narrative..." is not likely to be objective.

Boiler fails to comprehend that the remarks in the article were taken out of context and referred to situations from months ago, at the start of the pandemic.

Boiler needs to understand that he and others of his ilk are continually manipulated by propagandists and Russian troll-bots who figure out what he wants to hear and then feed it to them.
