Well, I took a quick look at the New York Daily News and found some stories they covered on Trayvon Martin, so maybe the New York Daily News has a racial bias.

You are right, and I'll edit the above go reflect that correction. I used the search box on the front page of the NYDN, typed in Trayvon Martin, got 449 hits and went to the very last one. Nevertheless, it took a dozen days for the paper to carry it. So anyone complaining about non instantaneous coverage of black on white crime is a fraud, since it certainly didn't happen in the Trayvon Martin case. And they are using this tactic to appeal to racism, sometimes successfully.

And Roulette Man, you were correct in correcting me, and you didn't result to your usual name calling. That's not a coincidence; you resort to the slurs and foul language mostly when you are cornered.

Now if only you would stop with the little cheap shots that you lay on other posters.

The Trayvon Martin should have never been of a story than any other homicide. The authority's determined no charges were warranted against GZ and that was it, end of story or should of been anyway. It only became a story when GMA ran theirs (with a little creative editing)and it became a white on black "crime". Well they even had that wrong, but the ball was rolling and the powers that be were pressured to do something and along comes a special prosecutor who I think they knew were fighting a losing battle from the get-go. All IMHO of course.

This story was ignored by the traditional media until public interest, in the form of political blogs, advocacy journalists, public protests, facebook, etc., made the story impossible to ignore. This story was no more driven by mainstream media than was the Arab Spring, the Tea Party Movement, the protests in Iraq, Occupy Wall Street, or the latest viral cat video.

So anyone who cites some non-coverage of a random black-on-white assault as evidence of media bias is playing you for a fool - with apparent success. And they are appealing to any racist resentment you may have within you.

I hope that doesn't describe anyone here.

What are they suppossed to weigh in on, Hoops? Were the shooters not arrested? have they been set free on a self-defense claim? Were the victim's parents not notified? Fill us in.

Oh, and I know you race has nothing to do with these kinds of things...but you might want to revisit you comment about the race of the suspects. One of them is white.

Apparently the driver was the first to break down, confess, and tell the police the whole story.

Because of their ages, the two youngsters charged with 1st degree Murder cannot be executed.
