9 year old girl kills instructor showing her how to use an Uzi

It's not the first time a pre-teen has been involved in a fatal accident shooting an Uzi at a gun range.

This one was an 8 year old...recoiled and shot himself.
I guess you can be a brilliant Doctor(or Lawyer) and still not have any common sense? God bless America, he got an out of court settlement for $700,000 for being a horrible parent.

The paranoid gun fetishists who keep us from having common-sense gun safety laws can add one more to the their body count.

Forkie, gun laws had not a damn thing to do with this. Try the F'ng parents, they were the ones who ALLOWED their child to fire that Uzi. NOT the government!

Oh, so these gun laws stops kids from using guns to kill people???

Btw interesting little pdf I found....linky

Wow, there's a lot of stupid to unpack in that statement.

So you're saying that if it were a felony to allow that little girl to shoot the Uzi, the parents would have still signed her up for the lesson? And if the instructor could have lost his job, his right to own a gun, and his freedom, he would have still gone ahead with it? And if the business could have lost their liability insurance and their business license, they would have still allowed it? Really?

It's the cowardly paranoid gun fondlers who keep us from having common-sense gun safety laws, and this adds one more to their body count. This was no accident.

You are so far out into left field you can only go right.

A 9 year can't own a full auto weapon, neither can the parents unless they meet certain criteria, the business that has the range must have some sort of insurance and WAIVERS for people to sign that the business is not liable for any stupidity caused by people firing said weapons. Christ man you are the type person who caused people who sell coffee to put those warning labels on the cups!!!

Government is NOT there to tell us how to live our lives. They are there to take care of the really big things, like taxing the crap out of gas to pay for Global warming.....

Oh gawd. That isn't the least bit relevant here, because no one is talking about gun ownership. Common-sense gun laws would keep little kids from firing Uzis anywhere. Of course if you're a paranoid gun fetishist, that would be the first step toward confiscating all guns, right?

DonDiego concurs. He'd suggest not permitting little kids from firing any full-automatic firearm.

This entire incident is being argued about politically and should never be. The instructor was shot only because he used neither his head or common sense by expecting the little girl to have no problem firing the gun on her own when he switched it to automatic mode for the first time. Have you ever shot an Uzi in automatic? The first time is an adrenalin rush and you quickly notice that the weapon needs to be controlled. The instructor flubbed up and paid a big price. She and her parents are not at fault.
I suggest a 22 bolt action for younger people who want to experience shooting. It worked for me and I never once dared to go near it without adult supervision.

It was made clear at an early age, we will shoot anytime you want (off course ammo was cheap back then) but the first time you go near it without an adult you will never shoot again. That was enough of a threat to keep me honest.

What is interesting is the fact that I never had an infatuation with firearms because it was not forbidden fruit.
