And you might mention that AlanLeroy's 'untrained, uniformed common sense' is supported by 75% of Physicians surveyed. Those darned doctors don't know anything about disease, right PJ? And It's AlanLeroy's common sense to error on the side of caution when dealing with a Virus that as a 70% mortality rate and disagreement in the Medical Community on the travel ban....Yet PJ insists on throwing caution to the wind. Why is that?

Perhaps PJ prefers the opinion of our new Attorney Ebola Czar to 75% of Doctors surveyed.

Doctors are trained to treat disease - not contain outbreaks. Am I wrong? I didn't go to medical school like AlanLeroy. Is there a class in medical school that teaches the history and effects of CDC controls regarding outbreaks? Because the current CDC leader has reached a different conclusion than 75% of doctors by saying the flight bans don't work...and may actually make things worse.

I'm not for throwing caution to the wind....I'm for doing what experts say is the best course of action. I've cited experts. I'm thinking they might be more knowledgeable on the subject than a generic survey of podiatrists and family doctors...or whatever. But its a free country. I dont begrudge you for having a different opinion. And doctors are a better source of information that others have provided on this board.

Maybe we can work up a fund for PJ's round trip commercial flight to Liberia to test out how confident he is in his 'Experts' while AlanLeroy will sit at home testing his theory.

Wonder if the warm dessert sun of Las Vegas will kill Ebola?

"75% of doctors by saying the flight bans don't work"

Where did that number come from?

I don't know who you're quoting there, but the reality is the reverse.

75% of Doctors Support Travel Ban

"SERMO, the leading social network of fully verified, licensed physicians in the U.S., announced today the results of recent polling of the SERMO physician community about the Ebola epidemic and its implications for the United States.

When asked if they believe all travel from West Africa should be halted to the US, 75% of the respondents chose "Yes." The poll questions also highlight concerns many physicians have about the U.S. preparedness level of the healthcare system to handle Ebola."

PJ cites some Experts who claim that Travel Bans don't work...but if you read them closely, what they're really saying is Travel Bans aren't 100% and that the Virus will still enter the country. But this is actually a straw man argument, because no one is arguing that a ban on Commercial airline traffic from infected areas will 100% stop Ebola. If it had just stopped the one we did have enter it would have been worth it. Look how much that's costing us now.

obama is going to name a medical expert whose experience consists of as serving as biden and gore's chief of staff as Ebola czar. obama can now play golf tomorrow.

He's an attorney. They're going to sue Ebola.

Best I can tell, Obama's newest Czar is another political hack. I suspect he has been instructed to handle this problem while keeping the upcoming election in mind. Votes first, America's safety second.
There will be a photo op meeting showing everybody how hard they working, an announcement that they have to study the situation for at least a month (code for after the election) before they say anything; and never meet again.

This is Obama's Harriet Miers Moment. Too bad Czars don't need to be confirmed.
