Any info on brain cancer?

A terribly sad thing has happened. My sister was taken to the ER 2 nights ago with extreme head pain. They did an MRI and found a tumor. They operated in the morning but could not get it all. It has come back as stage 3 brain cancer with a 1-2 years left prognoses. My sis is an RN so she is well aware of this disease which could either be a good thing or bad.
I was wondering if any of you have dealt with this through family, friends or have any knowledge on this.
Thank you very much.
Sorry to hear about your Sis. Yes I have two close friends pass away from this. All I can say is I encourage you to enjoy the time you have with her.
I am so sorry to hear this.
I have a friend that had brain cancer. He's been cancer free for a few years now. He's got a big old scar across the top of his bald noggin but hey, it could be a lot worse.

My advice would be to get a second opinion from a major cancer center.

One of my grandmothers had this. She had surgery, but it was found too late to get it all. This happened over 40 years ago and I was a teenager at the time. Unfortunately, I don't remember a lot lf the details of her treatment. I just remember she had some odd personality changes before it was found.
Will she be doing chemotherapy? We have one person in my office who had a tumor near his brain and optical nerve. He was given the prognosis that it was probably terminal and at best he would lose his eyesight in one eye.

The chemo shrunk the tumor and he is now fine.

Always hold out hope.
Thank you all for the support and info.

She is scheduled for an appt. with an Onocoligist today then an aggressive series of chemo & radiation.
Please keep us updated. At the risk of being slammed by some let me say it out loud. I will remember her in my prayers.

I have dealt with this more than once with several good friends. One was more like a brother to me. Unfortunately it did not have a happy ending.

On a good note a friend of ours wife had surgery and she is doing very well at this point. I know I might be flamed for saying this but I am a firm believer in prayer.

As stated earlier keep us in the loop and please gather all friends and family together in her time of need. My buddy used to light up like a Christmas tree when my wife and I would come visit.
So sorry to hear of the news. My prayers will be with you and your sister.
I am very sorry to hear this. I truly hope there is a chance of recovery with treatment in spite of the current diagnosis.
