Anyone find it harder to get free drinks while playing slots/vp?

The casinos should use the change light on slot machines to signal a CW. This way they would'nt have to walk around saying cocktails. When they see the light on the top of the machine light up they would know the person wants a drink. This would increase both efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The change lights don't "work" for change (ie; you're going to wait and hope anyway), why do you think they would work for drinks?

Walk into a slot area and look around. You may see 10% or more of the machines with lights lit. Sure, some of those lights signify something other than "change", but the lights are lit, and yours is just lost in the sea.

Best way to insure good CW service is a memorable tip and interaction. Remember there name when they take your order, when they return, say "Thanks Julie" (or whatever) and give a "good" tip. Than tell her something like, "Julie, I'm pretty thirsty, and will be ready for another in about 5 minutes.

Works for me, and I usually only tip $1.00 or $2.00. But I'm polite, remember their name, and try to make them smile or laugh with an inane remark.

"What would you like, Sir?"

"Julie, I'd like a slow dance in the parking lot, or a rum & coke."

I've "trained" some to just bring me a drink every time they pass until I've had enough and one is stacked while the other only partially consumed. And every time, I use their name.

Harrahs is introducing a new system where you can order drinks from your slot/VP machine using a touch screen. It is fully operational now at Rincon and works wonderfully well and fast. This increases productivity, because CWs dont have to walk around taking orders. I think youll see this system expand quickly. once again Harrahs leads the way. it will mean better service with fewer CWs.

They have that system in one of their Tunica casinos as well. Problem is when ordering mixed drinks, there is no choice of brand. You can order vodka/cranberry, but no way to specify Stoli or Absolut or whatever

Ak-Chin revised their "total touch" system and you can order drinks per brand. Like CA, AZ casinos cannot comp adult beverages on the casino floor. However, they can offer comped drinks in the diamond lounge.
I always use $2 bills for tips and never seem to have a problem getting service...especially repeat service.

Okay, I am cheap....I have not been to Vegas in 5 years, and I am going in March 2013.... Do the casinos still offer free drinks for playing VP ( tips of course ), and if so, which casinos? Thanks alot...
Most do, just sit down and start playing in the casino. You might find a little hard to keep ordering at bar tops.

Tip the waitress and she'll keep bringing drinks.
Many, many years ago I was flirting with a CW at Ceasars in Lake Tahoe. Asked her to go out with me when she got off at 2am, it was about 9:30. She told me to let her make a little more in tips then she would sneak off. About 10:30 she did.
I've heard of CWs hiding or greatly slowing down when they think they have made enough for the night. It has to be rare though.
When I stayed at Harrah's, IP or Flamingo I always got a couple 750ml bottles of vodka and brought a couple boxes of different flavored drink powders and when at the sundry shop I buy a couple bottles of water & make my own mixed by the liter.

That way I can make they as strong as I want.

I take one with me & a few drink packets and buy liter's of cold water as needed. Like Ron white says

"It's a kit."

There shouldn't be any problem with getting drinks from a cw. I think the Silverton CW's do a great job of covering the casino. The bartenders are also very good and drinks are brought promptly. That's why I play at the bar!

it's that simple. Tip well. Be polite. Be memorable. Tip well. They won't pass by on a "sure thing" once you have established yourself.
