Or as Steve Jobs put it, "Death is very likely the single best invention of life"

No, I'm not wishing death on anyone, just stating the obvious fact that the incoming generation is made of much finer people than their elders. They are less likely to discriminate based on race, religion, or sexual orientation. They are less likely to try to impose their version of the deity in the sky on others. In short, they are less judgmental and less cowardly

And don't think I am discriminating against old people. The very old folks, you know, The Greatest Generation, were also pretty great in their own way. It's their children who didn't turn out so good.

Some of those "much finer" people were on display in the motorcycle mob thread and in this trip down memory lane when "much finer" people viciously attacked a MGM Grand employee. Give me as a neighbor someone who wouldn't vote for a Muslim President over these "much finer" people any day of the week.

Sorry dude, but the plural of anecdote isn't data. Crime is down about 50% in the last 20 years - so that's just one more way today's young people are better.

And they're much less likely resort to religious bigotry than...you!

It would be nice if they enjoyed the work "ethic" that most of their parents had or have.

Ha! A lot of Grandmas never even got a job outside the home, and a lot of Grandpas never needed to help with the housework, they kept the store closed all day Sunday, and neither was expected to respond to emails from the boss over the weekend.

Oh, and worker productivity is up over 300% in the last 50 years.

I'm sure you realize correlation does not equal causation. You just need your memory jogged when the concept doesn't suit your agenda. Any criminologist worth his or her weight would attribute zero credit to a more moral younger generation for the reduction in crime. Crime rates have decreased due to tougher sentencing laws and more prisons to house the criminals, more sophisticated policing techniques, the proliferation of security systems and cameras, and a fairly dramatic average age increase of the US population in the last 20 years.

As of 4:30 this afternoon the site still returns the error message and says come back later. Here is a little hint servers act a certain way when they are overloaded. These servers are not overloaded there is something more serious afoot. Shame this would have been the top new story for the past two days if Republicans wouldn't have gone and shut down the government. Makes you wonder.
Ah yes, this better generation, reletively free of violence and rely on nobody but themselves, right?

I dont care what you say, but I never remember hearing about too many violent things going on in the news at all, it was the exception and not the rule. Also the same with govt assistabce, I never knew anybody who was on it and I guess if they were, there to proud to say so and prob didnt last long. This generation tho, theyll suck any and every dime outta the guvment they can. Ive seen firsr hand section 8ers get there 16 yr old daughters signed up so theyll get on as soon as they hit 18.

Yessir, one damn fine generation
