Ben Affleck Banned From Hard Rock

"Ben Affleck was allegedly kicked out of the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas after security believed they caught him counting cards, TMZ reports."

Apparently Mr. Affleck was way too obvious with his spread and mannerisms suggesting he was "card counting" at blsckjack.

n.b. "Card Counting" is not illegal in Las Vegas, but casinos can decide not to deal to advantage players.

Card counting is explicitly legal in Atlantic City, i.e. casinos cannot ban advantage players, which is why most Atlantic City blackjack games are pretty much alike and not particularly player friendly; this is a result of a 1979 NJ court case. If a similar court case were to ensue in Las Vegas and be decided likewise, one could reasonably expect the better games to be altered to be less favorable to the player.

I have no problem with them restricting his Blackjack, and I have no problem with him trying to count.

Apparently, his bet spread was like $10 - $10,000 on a double deck game and he was setting his chips in a way to keep track of the count --- in the old days he woulda been back-roomed in about 10 minutes.

counting cards is easy, getting away with it is the hard part, 3-1 spread is about the best you will get away with, 1000-1 is just plain arrogance. He is saying I am a god, I will do what I want!

Hmm... I always thought gods would be smarter than that. But I suppose greed and arrogance can even corrupt a god.

Agnes in my mind he is a false god, a few years ago he tipped the dealers $100,000 and I thought what a nice guy, now I think it was just hush money. Here is your big tip but from now on if I bet 10 10 10 10 10 then 10,000 do not call the pit boss over. If I bet 10 10 10 10 10 then $100 it would have been BOSS! He is now a dick in my mind. Not for counting cards but for using people, and his stature. JMO
