Casinos Alont I40 Thru New Mexico & Oklahoma

Wife and I stopped at the route 66 casino last saturday, driving from Vegas back to Oklahoma. When you apply for your Players Card, be sure to tell the girl yes when asked if you play blackjack. You will receive a card that will equeal an Ace on one hand of blackjack. Max bet on this promo is $100. Wife and I both played the promo, betting the max. We lost both hands costing us $200. It was just a continuation of the sorry luck we had at the tables in Vegas.
I live in Amarillo and we took some friends out there (Big Texan). We went up to congratulate the guy attempting to eat the steak and got there just about the time he grabbed the trash can and puked it all back up. Kinda hard to finish our meal after that.
A wrestler once at two of the complete dinners. A professional pitcher has the fastest time about 20 minutes or less.
Don't forget Santa Ana Star casino, as casinos North and South of ABQ are being mentioned. It's in Bernalillo, maybe about 15 minutes further from Sandia. It, like Route 66, has the free Buy on 4 and 10, should you be a craps player (I am.) That applies to the minimum bet, too ($5.) Last I knew, Sandia (probably the "nicest" of the casinos) also offers the free Buy on the 4 and 10, but starting at $25 bet (too rich for me to start out.) What do you like to play? I typically don't play blackjack in NM, as it doesn't seem the rules are what I like (must shop around in LV, too.) How long in Q?

Yes it's right off the highway. Lots of construction tricky exit.

I have played BJ for years, but also $1-$2 VP...Going to tour Sante Fe (possibly stay overnite) then on to Q where we might also stay overnite.

Anyone with info on VP inventory in the Q casinos?

Thanks, do you think the construction will be finished by mid December?

The weather....Is snow a big problem in mid December?

Can't tell you much about VP. Truly, I don't gamble in my own state, very much. My brother plays it at Route 66. He was not impressed with Santa Ana Star Casino's inventory. As you say you may be in Santa Fe, you open yourself up to many more casinos. Buffalo Thunder, Cities of Gold, Camel Rock (all North of Santa Fe.) Buffalo Thunder is the newest, and, from my one visit, is a pretty nice casino. Can't speak to the gaming (sorry.) On your way down to Q from Santa Fe, you could hit up Casino Hollywood (a very small casino on the San Felipe pueblo.) Both Santa Ana and Sandia are easy to get to off of I-25 heading into Q from Santa Fe. You could hit Fire Rock casino in Gallup, NM. It is 140 miles West of Q, right off of I-40 on the East part of Gallup. Sorry to not be of more help regarding rules and pay schedules. However, you have a lot from which to choose.

Snow should not be much of a problem in Q, nor West of Q. When (read that as rarely) it snows in town it is usually in the morning and melts off by the afternoon (typically.)

Enjoy your time in the Land Of Enchantment.

We were just there Monday and it wasn't too bad. Don't know when they plan to have it finished.
It's hard to tell what winter will be like. I can't remember much snow in December usually snow happens more January and February.

Sky City Casino is at exit 102. It is just minutes off of I-40. A very nice hotel. The food is fine, buffet is good. The blackjack is very playable. The video poker is not full pay. Last time I stopped it had a $10 sign up bonus.
I have a funny story about this casino. My friend Sue and her husband headed out to Arizona the day before I headed to Las Vegas. She called that she had forgot her husbands shirts. Would I stop at her house and get them. Her son packed the shirts and loaded them in my car. We drove down I-40, since we now had to stop at Sue's house in Arizona to drop off the shirts. Spent the night at Sky City Casino.
The next morning as I head to the casino to play for a minute, there was Sue. She had car trouble and had ended up spending the night at the Sky City Casino too.
