Sky City Casino is at exit 102. It is just minutes off of I-40. A very nice hotel. The food is fine, buffet is good. The blackjack is very playable. The video poker is not full pay. Last time I stopped it had a $10 sign up bonus.
I have a funny story about this casino. My friend Sue and her husband headed out to Arizona the day before I headed to Las Vegas. She called that she had forgot her husbands shirts. Would I stop at her house and get them. Her son packed the shirts and loaded them in my car. We drove down I-40, since we now had to stop at Sue's house in Arizona to drop off the shirts. Spent the night at Sky City Casino.
The next morning as I head to the casino to play for a minute, there was Sue. She had car trouble and had ended up spending the night at the Sky City Casino too.

Thanks so much for the info on the Sky City Casino....Is the hotel attached to the casino?....Can you give me any info on their room rates?
I want to thank everyone who contributed info, I really appreciate it!......Though most of the info was related to casinos off I40 in Albuquerque, I am also interested in info on casinos, and interesting sites to visit off I40 in Oklahoma City....

Thanks again!!!
There are tons of Indian Casinos in Oklahoma. Surprisingly around the OK City metro there are very few. I saw some advertised around El Reno and Yukon which I hadn't visited. Tulsa has quite a few large ones, which I40 will not take you near. Unless you find one that waives the .50 per hand ante, the table games suck. VP shedules that I've found are not very good. Most of the casinos you'll see will be near the Arkansas border.
The rates currently posted for the Sky City Casino is $68. Yes the casino is attached to the hotel. There is a second casino very near. It is small but right off of I-40. Sorry I don't remember the name of it. Mary

Thanks for the info Mary.......In your opinion, which of the two, Sky City or Route 66 casino would be the better choice for a couple days stay with the emphasis on room quality and dining options?
There is more to consider. What do you want to do for the couple days? The Pueblo might be interesting to tour. But near the Route 66 casino there are a lot more things to see and do. I found the Sky City Casino hotel, quite comfortable. Have not been to the Route 66 Casino.

Mary, since we're passing thru Q, the idea of stopping for more than one night really depends whether there's something of real interest, something unique, that we couldn't see or do anywhere else....Do you, or anyone else have any ideas on this?
