CET will start resort fees on March 1.....

Guess it was inevitable..

CET Resort Fees
I wonder if this is the huge story that LVA is trying to confirm?

February 20, 2013 14:40 Water Park Hiring: While we await confirmation regarding a huge, but as yet unconfirmed story, that's rocking the blogsphere, here's some totally unrelated good news: The new westside Wet ā€˜n’ Wild Las Vegas water park, located at 7055 S. Fort Apache, is now taking online applications for 300+ seasonal workers, including supervisor positions, for positions including admissions, life guards, food and beverage, and security.
The greedy get greedier. Anyone who pays this "fee" deserves to be ripped off.
Doc, I think it's probably a good thing. Most people don't book rooms at Cesar's properties because they figure if there is no resort fee, the hotel must not be resort like.

I can't imagine there being many people who ever concluded that the lack of a resort fee meant that Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Paris, and Rio are not resort-like. Or any, actually.

Fees like these are the wave of the future. If I was a Nevada legislator, I'd try to pass a bill mandating that resort fees be included in advertised rates, not tacked on after the fact because I think current practice hurts consumers. While they're easy for a knowledgeable visitor to factor in, they tend to piss off the unaware, and deter them from wanting to return to Nevada.
I think it's a status thing mostly. It makes a person feel hip to say they stayed at a property that demands resort fees. Kinda in a "la ti da" way.

Similar to drinking vodka. Ketel One tastes better and is cheaper than Grey Goose. But I won't even think of ordering a Ketel One if anyone is within earshot. If I can discreetly order Ketel One without anyone knowing I will and then if asked tell people I am drinking Goose.
I'm kind of hoping your "status post" was tongue in cheek and if not, I guess there's no need to comment if that was a serious comment.

Bob, I think we can both agree that you get what you pay for.

Want a smooth ride, buy an Escalade or Pilot, not a Kia. Want to experience a resort setting, be willing to pay for the experience or stay at Riviera or Golden Gate.

To be honest I also thought that was tongue in cheek.

Goose is way overrated. Ketel One for the win.
