Chairs at the pools

I guess no matter what happens, just be wary if anyone offers to push in your stool.

You're lucky someone didn't toss your crap aside and claim your loungers for themselves.

That's why you put some personal stuff (like books or magazines)on along with the towels. So people know someone is coming to use it. I did that this spring every day at the Golden Nuggets pool. If there was stuff on the chairs, they were occupied. If you didn't see the people put the stuff down and leave how would you know they just weren't lounging in the pool for awhile, or at the bar. That's just rude to move people's stuff. You had to claim a chair in the morning or you wouldn't get one. Especially if you wanted one in the sun.

Been to other places like Mirage and Venetian during summer when people literally wait for the gate to open at 8, go and plop down their towels, and be gone. Sorry, don't think it's much fun to have to get up that early to "relax" by the pool.

You are 100% right about that. Sometimes we'll head to the pool, claim some loungers and then go eat breakfast at the pool cafe. I much prefer not having to worry about finding a chair. For my upcoming trip, my wife is hoping we stay on east coast time and be up at 8am.

We're staying at Flamingo and if there is drama to get a pool chair, we'll move to Aria.

I've also noticed there is a rush hour to get pool chairs around 11am. The first shift people are at the pool from 8am to noon and the second shift people are there from 11am to 3pm. So, right from 11 to 12 it is very crowded.

Snidely,

I heard Flamingo is really strict about bringing outside food or drinks, even when it comes to water. Is that true?

We took crackers and soda into the Aria pool area every day and nobody said anything to us.

I don't know how strict the Flamingo is but we'll find out in a few days. A couple years ago we stayed at Mandalay Bay. They search your bags for contraband. The people ahead of us in line to get in the pool area had their water bottles rejected. Another guy searched my wife's pool bag and let her in with 3 bottles of water. Maybe it depends who is doing the checking or maybe it depends how riff raff you look.

We keep a People magazine from 2004 and a MMA magazine in our pool bag. So far, no one has tossed our crap aside.

Maybe It's all relative. If it's just your basic "crap" then I might be inclined to toss it aside, now If it's appears to be "stuff" then I might kinda give a looky around and see if it has any owners. OK, now if it looks like "belongings" I have to take a pass on messing with them.

If it just looks like a bunch of shit, kick it in the pool for spaulding or carl to find, don't do baby ruth's anyway.
I also have a hat that I leave on the chair.

A damn fine hat.
What if a hotel pool had the option to, for a small fee, reserve a lounger or a set of them. for the whole day? And then, for a small fee, you wouldn't have to worry about having to go down before you even have coffee and place random stuff on some chairs and hope people don't move that random stuff and claim the space for themselves while you are off having your coffee or breakfast, or while you are swimming in the pool!

What a novel concept!
