The D now charging a resort fee.

Went to their website to look at booking a room and now charge a 20 dollar resort fee which includes free Wi-Fi, 10 dollars off show tickets and free local and toll free phones calls.
Nice
To bad it isn't a resort

When was the last time anybody used their room phone for an outside call?

And since wifi is about to be freely available downtown I ont see much value in that either. Oh well.

Applies to Golden Gate too!
I did enjoy my stay at The D over Memorial Day weekend; but I will not pay a $20 a day resort fee to stay there in the future. Bad move Mr. Stevens.

Now I don't have to bring my cell phone to Vegas to call random local people I don't know.

According to The D owner Derek Stevens, "over 85% of all hotel rooms booked today in the city include a resort fee."

Resort fees are

* here to stay.

Those few folks who refuse on principle to stay anywhere that imposes a resort fee are competing over a tiny slice of Vegas' hotel rooms.
Which one is the "D"? formerly who? The Fitz?
