Dancer's Column "May 7th"

I just don't buy it. I think there is something else going on here.

I don't know if there are any smoke free casinos he could play at but that might be a solution.

I will say I know several people who have changed jobs for the sake of their marriage. I would have done it in a heartbeat if my wife asked me to.

As a side note I don't feel bad about voicing my opinion on the matter because if he was worried about it he wouldn't be airing his laundry on the web.

I took a few days to read about this here and on other forums before forming an opinion.

You're right (and so is Singer). There HAS to be more going on here than Dancer wants us to think. What kind of a person with public image would ever try to make others believe he would rather see a wife suffer than stop visiting casinos? The answer is the lesser of two evils to a narcissist. The guy has gambled too much and the money Dancer always claims is piled high has been disappearing. Arguments ensue, and because Mr. Wonderful can't stop, the wife takes the hit and the blame.

I've been divorced twice and have no children. If Dancer really had anything saved at all, he doesn't now. In any case, writing about one's own personal problems in a gaming column is more than stupid. Implying to us he's banging his wife's friend after a few months only shows how low he's sunk and how hard the heavies fall. Hope he enjoys his new apartment.

The replies. Geez.

Whether he wrote the article or not, dirty looks are coming...what's the EV on dirty looks?
Maybe someone can recruit Shirley to tell her side. A Shirley Dancer Tell-All E-Book from Huntington Press could fly off the virtual shelves. She could even share some square dancing stories.
Almost, but not quite, want to attend his next class wherever, just to be able to ask questions during the Q & A at the end of his "lecture".

Hmmmmm.........

Just a prediction: six months from now this will all be forgotten and the Bob Dancer brand will be as solid as it ever was.

Yes sir MoneyLA but wouldn't Dancer's net worth be reduced by as much as 50%? His standard of living went down from moving out of Shirley's house, to house-sitting some friends' house, then getting his own apartment. Nevada is a community property state which I'm assuming each spouse is entitled to an equal share of 50-50 of marital property. Does that include retirement income such as 401K's or IRA's? He'll possibly need to make alimony payments, possibly for the rest of his life, etc? Unless he had a prenuptial agreement.

Since Mr. Dancer was living at a friends place and now an apartment, can we assume he isn't getting rich playing VP?
