Former Dealertainers were offered positions as part-time regular dealers, or severance pay. Some had been with the program since it started.

There's your answer Alan.

But why not just tell them to stop singing and just deal. And then have the layoffs the traditional way. These dealertainers were not treated the same as non-singing dealers.

They're all Union, right? In order to be treated differently, they would have to be in a different job class....one that was eliminated. If it paid the same as a regular dealer, who would sign up to be a dealertainer rather than a regular dealer? It would me more work for the same pay.

Yeah, but it's more fun and you might be "discovered".
"The dealertainers were a cheesy vestige of a different time and a different Las Vegas."

Which is exactly what a lot of us came to Vegas for...cheesy, different kind of fun.

Union??? Yeah, right. In the casino I used to work at, if you even thought the word union, they would find some way to fire you.

Hey! Maybe this is just a sneaky way to move more people to part time so CET won't have to pay for their heath insurance when the Obamacare Employer Mandate kicks in for 2015.

No more phone calls, we have a winner.
No more dealertainers. Thanks Obama.

Less work makes freedom.

Walked through the Quad at least six times during my 4-day convention last week. Very dead in there. The only activity seemed to be around the Linq door and Guy Fieri's restaurant. Looks nicer than it used to, but the rooms are not done yet. And there is construction all over the place. We took a wrong turn near a temp wall and suddenly found ourselves in O'Shea's.
