Democrats claim to have grown oil and gas production

They lied about shutting it down after the spill, telling the public that they had finally opened up Gulf to drilling. A permit request would be submitted, and Obama and friends would sit on it until an appeal was submitted. They would fabricate an issue, then sit on it until an appeal was submitted. Then the would fabricate an issue and so on.

The government has become more reasonable, but Obama personally lied about the situation for years.

Obama and friends have been incredibly kind to the drilling industry. Much too kind, IMO. Fracking companies dont have to provide the specific formulas of the chemicals they inject into the ground....and they cant be sued when they pollute water supplies...and they are not held accountable for the seismic earthquakes their fracking causes. And rail cars carrying oil are currently configured to be bombs on wheels which is why Canada is passing legislation to reconfigure those vessels. There is no such effort in the US.

If Obama was the leftist, tree hugging, enviro-nut that people like Boilerman portray him to be he would use the EPA go after all these abuses...and push for legislation in Congress. But he hasn't. Thats why lots of leftist, tree-hugging environuts are not happy with him right now.

But Boilerman is right about one thing. Obama refuses to let frackers destroy Yellowstone Park. What a prick.

Yes, i know all about your buddies in the deepwater drilling arena. I especially liked the one who constantly preached how it was Obamas fault that BP couldnt cap the gushing oil mess that put the Gulf seashore out of business for two years.

Deepwater drilling is not suffering from permits...it is suffering from competition with cheaper oil coming from fracking. And if the keystone pipeline gets built your deepwater buddies will have even more competition to deal with...and im sure they'll blame Obama then too.
I think Boiler fails to ask the relevant question. Even if we were to concede his point for sake of argument and give conservatives all the credit for increased oil production across the U.S. Then how come the promised fruits (lower gas prices) of drill baby drill have failed to materialize? The lowest octane of unleaded is $3.90 a gallon in my neck of the woods. We are witnessing the failure of yet another conservative economic policy: increased drilling doesn’t trickle down to benefit the citizenry just like lower taxes for the 1% doesn’t create jobs or increase government revenue. So by all means let us give the conservatives all the credit and all the corresponding blame for the $4 a gallon gasoline that goes along with it.
My friend never said that Obama kept them from stopping the leak. He did say that Obama sent academic experts with zero drilling knowledge who simply got in the way and did slow the process of capping the well. He equated it to changing the oil in the car with the help of a 5 year old. They all want to help, yet only get in the way and slow progress.

One specific instance was Obama insistence that those working the problem consult with Steven Chu, our current energy secretary, to analyze the blow out protector. Obama and Chu were surprised to learn that the oil companies have been using gamma rays for decades and Chu simply got in the way and slowed progress.

One Gulf production problem absolutely IS slow permitting and permitting refusal from Obama and friends. By now, PJ should know that Obama is very willing to lie to the public.

There are a lot of qualifying statements in these articles where the words "may" and "possible" are used. I remember global warming being blamed for increased # of hurricanes a few years ago. The EPA has said that fracking does not pollute the water

Rick Perry asks the same thing. 100's of them have happened in areas where no significant seismic activity has happened before...and they all conicidentally happen near fracking sites. And "coincidence" is exactly the word fracking companies will use to explain them.

In oklahama
In Ohio
And, most of all, in Texas

Malibber, why would you ever have thought that some growth in US oil production would lower the pricing set on the Worldwide market? I have always claimed that our increased production would have no material impact on World pricing.

You know, Malibber, we also drill for natural gas. This is largely a domestic market and because of our drill drill drill policies on land where Obama has little influence, our market gas prices are low. Because of these low prices, the chemical sector (my business) is growing dramatically within the US. This means lots of good jobs and lots of exported products which are downstream from oil and natural gas.

How is the job market in Texas where drilling is up? How about the job market in the Dakotas where oil and gas production is exploding? You guys always say that drilling won't add jobs, but the facts tell a different story.

Trains cause seismic activity and no damage. Fracking may cause seismic activity, but no damage. So, no damage and lots of jobs. Boy, that seems like a good deal to me.

Just get the Liberals out of the way.
Maybe I thought that because almost every national Republican politico type since 2008 has said that:

I believe it was Michael Steele when he ran the RNC back in 2008 and first coined the phrase “drill baby drill.” It has been repeated ad nauseam by Republican candidates since then as the solution for high gas prices.

The best thing we can do to get the price of gas to be more moderate and not have to be dependent upon the oil cartel is to drill in the gulf, drill in the outer continent shelf, drill in ANWR, drill in North Dakota, South Dakota, drill in Oklahoma and Texas."

A couple of factors in play here. Oil production is close to oil demand, so that keeps the price high. If there hadn't been increased production we would be dealing with worldwide shortages and higher prices. In addition, most of the sources of cheap oil (in terms of cost of getting it out of the ground) are being exhausted. We are left with more expensive sources (such as deep water), so the price of oil remains high due to increased drilling expenses.

Your deepwater buddies lied to the American People when they said they could contain a deep water spill. And when their lie was exposed you blamed Obama instead of the liars...your buddies. Perhaps it makes sleep come easier for you and your friends to blame Obama for their mess. And its important to get a good nights sleep.

I don't know if companies lied about being able to contain a spill, but I suspect that you are correct. I know for a fact that Obama has lied about his folks obstructing oil production on federal lands. Public lands down 8%, private lands up 60%. The math is compelling.

My friend has been telling me of the obstruction and the lies for some time. The production volumes is substantial evidence supporting his position.
