That must have been before the switch to the new mid-field terminal in November of 2008. Right now there is nowhere you can walk to at all.

They only thing I could think of to do if you had a long layover would be to give a couple of bucks to an off-site car lot driver to let you ride the shuttle there and then back again, or take a taxi out and back. It would be cheaper than the fines would be.

I hear all of you

a minor investment of a box of nicotine patches is my solution for travel.

My brain doesn't work w/o nicotine but a patch works for 24 hours and it's a Godsend to me.

try it

Well, Bob... the way things are going soon you won't have this problem. theyre just going to make smoking illegal and tobacco illegal. then youll have nothing to gripe about anymore.

That ain't gonna happen. The federal, state and local governments are addicted to tobacco tax revenues. I'd prefer they made the products illegal. At least that'd be consistent with the laws concerning usage in some places.
I smoked longer than I care to say. I tried quitting more times than I'll admit. I was finally successful with the help of Chantix. Four years cig free now and smoke and smokers don't bother me in the least. If you smoke and want to quit, but have failed you might give Chantix a try. There can be side effects you have to watch out for, but it was worth the risk for me...because it really worked.

Do non smoking areas in casinos have the same good games? link

Before Illinois casinos went nonsmoking, the Par-A-Dice in East Peoria had the most favorable nonsmoking conditions I have ever found in a smoking casino. They had their entire top deck sealed and smokefree, and as far as I could tell on its own ventilation system. This deck had a lot of their best video poker (with the exception of a single $5 9/6 JoB in their high limit room).

Unfortunately their best games were Illinois Deuces and 9/7 DDB with cashback around .25%. And the nonsmoking deck had no table games.
As a former smoker (4mos), I don't like the fact that it seems every where you look, there's no smoking. I'm the one to talk here, but if people want to smoke, or drink its up to them, not the frelling government.

Would you like an airport where you can't buy food? Well, that's how some smokers feel when there is no smoking areas. I agree that non-smokers should be able to walk into a building and not smell smoke. However, where are the rights for the smokers? There has to be a happy medium in there somewhere as to keep both sides happy.

This is a terrible analogy.

Unless, of course, my consumption of a bacon nacho chalupa can cause the toddler at the next table to develop heart disease.
It's weird as hell for me to see someone smoking inside anymore other than in a casino. The best smoke/non-smoke casino I know is Bally's in AC. Two separate sides. None of this one row of slots is smoking and the next row is non-smoking crap.

After all the dire predictions about restaurants and bars going out of business due to the smoking ban, I don't see any closing due to non-smoking.

It must suck to be addicted to something like that. I've seen lots of people use the nicotine patches on long flights.

Do you prefer no drinking of alcohol in an airport instead? How about no drinking in an entire county?

Snidely, its an addiction, like any other.
There are dry counties. Drinking is not a constitutionally protected right.
