If Chicago should somehow be upset tonight, there is going to be a lot of soul searching.
Chicago was the underdog last night, not the favorite, so their loss wasn't an "upset".

The famous Chilcoot once again failed to give the particulars. Since Dallas won earlier in the day, the game was meaningless to Philadelphia. Many expected Philadelphia to sit their quarterback and other key people because Philly has to beat Dallas next week in order to go to the playoffs.

On the other hand, with Detroit and Green Bay both losing earlier in the day, the Bears could have been NFC North champions. Now they must play Green Bay next week for the division title.

Only an idiot would quote the line without looking at the situation.
Las Vegas' handicappers are smart. All week, they set their lines in anticipation of the possibility that a Dallas win could impact Philly's desire to compete come kickoff. Philly would have been an even greater favorite (-5? -6?) without the Dallas complication's impact on bettors' views.

Observe how Roulette Man can't cite a single mainstream book that moved its line to favor the Bears after the Cowboys won. His opinions don't require the support of facts, what he says is true simply because he says it's true.

Chicago was the underdog all week, from before the game until kickoff, and lost as expected like underdogs usually do.

Yes, if I made as big of a gaffe as you just did, I'd try to come up and cover my ass too. The facts are the facts. At game time Chicago can clinch a playoff spot and the AFC North. Philly can't win a thing, no matter what the outcome was, because they will have to play Dallas. Unfortunately you pulled a normal Chilcoot, where you shit on another thread.
I know he'll never admit that Philly was always favored to win last night. He also will pretend that the betting history for the game is a lie, even though it proves that Philly was favored all week, even after Dallas lost its early game yesterday.. The spread was alway Philly by 2.5 to 3.5 points.

Still, it's funny to watch him thrash about, and gives us all another chance to leer at USC's faculty.

Here is the problem with you Chilcoot, you are a static thinker. You are not capable of being a dynamic thinker. Do you really think the line would have been the same if Chicago was going into the game with a chance to clinch? Do you even understand the concept of the line? I don't think you do.

Once again, the peace and quiet that had settled over the LVA forum has been disrupted. I,like many others, had hoped that we had heard the last of the all knowing, never wrong, Obama ass kissing Chilcoot. Hopefully, Santa will take away it's internet privileges and spare us, the LVA faithful, of it's abrasive and asinine postings. We can only hope...

Static Thinker? Dynamic Thinker?

I think what really makes RM mad is that I'm unwilling to join him in being a Stupid Thinker.

As the link I posted yesterday proved to non-stupid thinkers everywhere, after Dallas won its early game yesterday, the line in the Philly game went from Philly -3.5 to Philly -2.5. Yep, Philly remained the favorite all week, right up to kickoff.

But not to RM. He is a Dynamic Thinker! Which apparently is so profound it has no use for actual facts!
Chilcoot doesn't even understand the line. He thinks when Vegas sets a team as a favorite, then they are expected to win. That is not the case at all. The line is set where the linemaker believes the sports book will get equal action being bet on both sides. I've listened to linesmakers on Colin Cowher's Herd and many times they believe that an underdog will win a game, BECAUSE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES and the past history.

Really Is anybody surprised he can't answer about what was involved going into that game, and how the line was moving down meaning money was going on Chicago? He can cut and paste, but when it comes to common sense, he (or she) is as clueless as the clueless blonde.
