Do people still use cash?

I spend less if I'm using cash, I can see the money leaving my pocket.
Credit or debit doesn't seem the same....kind of like casino chips.

You beat me to it. I will definitely spend more knowing I have my card with me. Just last night I ran out to the grocery store for a couple things. Well, they had some good looking rib eyes on sale, hmmm gotta get some shrimp thats on sale here too, and....well you get the idea. When I checked out it was like 80 bucks or so and while I had the cash(i think), I would've never thrown all that in if I didn't have my card.

Somehow spending 86 or 118 or whatever dollars just doesn't seem the same as cash green money coming out of my pocket, its' almost as if it is not real money, which of course it is, especially when I see our end of month statements.

Maybe I should institute an all cash budget around here, I bet we would cut our spending by a third to half.

I wonder if Randy Travis was going to use cash or credit when he shopped the Tiger Mart?
I still use cash to make small purchases, lunch, quick stop to pick up fruit, etc. Like Chef, I also feel I spend more when I have cash on me, I usually keep $20-30 cash in my wallet.

There are places where it is inconvenient to use cash…at gas stations I use a credit card(I hate standing in line), or when traveling I definitely use credit cards unless I am tipping valet or maid service with cash.

As a rule, if the tab is under $10, I pay cash. Everything else is plastic.
That's my rule of thumb as well.

Plus, stores have become so efficient with plastic, makes it so easy.

I'm even more curious as to where he kept his wallet.

Definetly cash.

Buck naked.

Cash for everything but gas, hotel rooms, airline tickets, online purchases and a few big ticket items a year.
Under $20 use cash. Otherwise the Debit card.
I am debit at home and cash on vacation. When I was in Vegas last month for the dance competition I noticed that most of the parents were charging everything. Even a $5 Jamba Juice. I don't know if that's how they always do it to get airline miles or some other type of reward or if it was because they were broke from all the expensive dance stuff.
