Expressions/Slang from the Past

When we were kids and playing, my grandmom used to say...
"Shhhh, you'll wake the baby".
There was no baby.

Can't forget the ol' metric hammer OR when explaining work needs to be done on a car(for the less than knowledgable) the muffler bearings are shot or the headlamp grease needs repacking.

Or, need to change the air in the tires.

Odd 30 years back it was "Go warm up the TV set" but with the 40 inch I have now it is true again.
